Spirit is a most gentle Dad, who spends quality time with his little ones. It is incredible to watch how he plays with them and teaches them life lessons. Little filly Maisie loves to hang out with her Dad!

Birth Announcement - Superman Speaks - 'Oh poo, my silly Auntie Maxi had a filly last night! And I wanted a baby brother to play with and boss around. This little Maisie mooch is sooo focuused on food - typical!

Superman speaks - 'this is me at only one day old - I was born March 31st, so I'm no April Fool, I'm smart. so smart. They tell me my Auntie Maxi is about to give birth, MAYBE to a filly. BUT I want a baby brother to play with and boss around - girls are no good! and no way would a girl be prettier than me either.'

Birth Announcement! A spectacular new foal has recently arrived, Blue Raven's Superman, son of our new herd stud, Orka's Spirit. His soft fluffy coat is mostly white but has flashy dorsal markings, and his irresistible eye is grey-blue (for the moment). This newcomer will be learning about life & love at Blue Raven Farm as spring advances; we'll be posting the stories of his wobbly adventures as time goes by! FB Admin

Seaside Views - although snow lingers in Nova Scotia, buds are still furled, and most of us are in isolation inside, we always have the striking views of the Bay of Fundy from our farmhouse & pastures. They remain much the same year to year, regardless of the troubles around us this Spring. FB Admin

Snow & Christmas Lights - we are having some Spring snowfalls in Nova Scotia this March, they don't last long but are very pretty while on the ground; and are bringing back happier Christmas 2019 memories. Some communities have re-lit their festive house lights (which we often wait to take down well into spring for safety's sake) to cheer kids & neighbours up during home isolation. With the snow on bushes & houses, it looks very cheery & cozy. Meanwhile Blue Raven is happy to share some memories of springs & foals past, looking forward to the season of births and greener fields - FB Admin

Spirit is our current herd stallion and is the son of our long-term stud Orka. He's shows all the best characteristics of his sire, with a few flashy touches like his 'zebra stripe' leggings!

Orka was our herd stallion until 2019, but he is only 'retired' with a small r; he's still patrolling to protect his herd as he should. His instincts have created a very loyal bloodline in Blue Raven's Fjords...
