The Kunekunes got a new pen of their very own, including an old building with a new addition on the side.
These big boys have a tendency to wander, so building them an enriching space is very important to us, if they are going to be penned.
Bubs is looking oh so dreamy, in his new to him, baby barn.
Our gorgeous volunteer brought the babes some leafy greens the other day and they had a salad party!
Jim has been referred to as "that one guy, with the face" and honestly? I get it 😂❤️
He is so gorgeous! Fun fact: this is Robert California's biological father. We adopted them all as a family and have got to watch them stay together and also find new friends.
Gavin 😍 This big pig makes me so happy. As one of our largest pigs, he can look a little intimidating, but Gavin is the cuddliest guy in the entire world.
He is one of Finley's original pig siblings and he reminds us of how far things have come, those we have gained, and those we have lost.
While our return to social media may be slow and a little uninteresting, we are trying to get back into our normal routines.
You could never fathom in a home like this, that things feel empty, but with Finley gone they certainly do.
We are finding ourselves struggling to post this week.

🌈 Finley Bishop 🌈 wandered off the other night, to pass away peacefully on a mossy patch in the forest. He knew mom and mama couldn't bare to say goodbye, but stayed close enough that he could be found.
His brother Leroy was likely nearby when he crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
We feel lost. The farm feels empty.
10 year old Finley, leaves behind an incredible legacy of strength, comfort, and love. He has had such a beautiful life with so many people who have adored him.
The world truly is a better place because Finley was in it.
We miss you. Everyone misses you... I wish you could have stayed with us baby boy..

We are so grateful for the funds raised for Marvin's vet bills. We were able to raise about half of what we owed and this is such a huge help. ❤️
He is doing incredibly well now that he is home. He was totally silent the entire trip to the vet and during his stay, as soon as he saw mom, he perked back up and was ready to get the hell out of there 😂❤️
He's back to his normal spunky self.
Marvin had severe bloat and anemia.
They worked so hard to relieve that pressure for him and rebuild proper gut health. It was very clear Marvin found a bag of pig feed and had a great time.
Live and learn I suppose!
The vet has advised us that due to the variety in plant life on the farm, we are best to feed Marvin only hay and let him free graze, and to keep him away from grains.
They were able to get a very clear xray of his head and trim back a large part of those curly horns we've been so worried about. He had a sore on his head from where the horn grew back into his skull but they've assured us they're willing to keep trimming it back, despite us being turned away from other vets.

We are so thrilled to share this update with you all.
Not only have Marvin's gastro symptoms improved, but our incredible team was able to remove a SUBSTANTIAL amount of his horns. When we saw this we were brought to tears, as we have been dreaming of this sweet moment of relief for Marvin. He must feel SO much better.
He isn't home yet, but hopefully this weekend, as long as he continues to be stable.
He will be monitored very carefully to ensure he no longer eats things he's not supposed to eat. This may mean building a new enclosure and paddock somewhere on the property, which as you all know I struggle to pen our animals. However if it means no more urgent trips to the vet or lots of discomfort, I feel it's a sacrifice we will have to make.
We are so grateful for everyone's donations and shares, please continue to share Marvin's story so that we can continue helping animals like him, and pay off the rest of his bill.

Marvin is making improvements and we will post the update from the vet soon. We are still awaiting xray results on his horns, but his bloat has improved. Keep it up sweet boy!!

Please keep our silly wonderful boy, Marvin in your thoughts. We found him this morning unable to stand, with diarrhea. We immediately got him in the truck and are heading to the AVC.
He was perfectly ridiculous and fine yesterday abd last night. Things happen so quickly around here.
We love our boy and while we can't afford these surprise bills right now, we will do whatever we can to make sure he is given the best care.

Marvin will journey to the AVC soon to have that horrible little horn looked at, and hopefully, looked after. We are very worried as we know the disservice done to him by allowing this to happen in the first place.
When Marvin arrived to us, his horn was already growing back into his skull. We brought him to the vet, and they were able to trim back enough of the horn to provide him comfort. They told us it was likely this would be the only time they could help us, as he didn't react well to the anesthesia.
But the time has come. Our boy needs a helping hand and a decision has to be made for his comfort. He will get an xray and we will make a game plan with our veterinary team, likely early next month.
Anything they can do to improve his quality of life, we will be thankful for.
Marvin is the best. People who don't like goats, like Marvin. He's a Dandelion through and through 💛
Mama found a snake yesterday and she can't help herself when making new animal friends, she simply MUST! 😂❤️

This beautiful Dandelion is named Mae, and while we try really hard to keep her at home, she simply adores this tree next door (sorry guys we are trying 😅😅😅) so every day we rally her back.
This gorgeous Dandelion loves every moment she spends in the sunshine. She has more freedom than most and she takes advantage of every single second.

To the lovely person who sent us an Amazon package, we have received the delivered notification but the package wasn’t actually here. We have a package box and it was empty, which means an animal probably took it and hid it on our property..

This is a volunteer position that can be filled from anywhere. We are looking for someone well written to come up with catchy blurbs and hashtags to get the word out there for what we do.
Mama struggles major with social media and simply doesn't have the time or skills to do this herself.

The heat has us acting all kinds of ways 😂❤️ My partner asked "who even is that?" HECK IF I KNOW! 🤷♀️ Most of our pigs are pretty good at protecting themselves from the sun, but we still try to spritz a little sunscreen on them when we can. Mom's are off for a couple days to pick up a beautiful new addition to our friends family. We are bringing a pig home to the most incredible humans, a sweet little girl and her mom, who lost their boy far too soon and needed that piggy energy in their lives. We are trying very hard to keep everyone cool during this heat wave. We are so blessed to have been able to provide our animals with a pond/wallow, and they also have access to about 5 toddler pools that we refill throughout the day. Robert's test results showed us that she's not currently suffering from bacterial growth in her limbs! YAY! Robert will likely always deal with an increase of fluid around her back legs, but it's very manageable. We are so relieved with this news and to know that, while Robert may experience some discomfort, she's an overall healthy little girl. Our beautiful farm boy, Leroy, is so wonderful at protecting our animals. He's kind, gentle, and fierce. He keeps the coyotes away and leads the pigs back to the barn when he suspects something sketchy. Sometimes we worry he is lonely, so I ask your advice: Do livestock guardians need a friend/buddy?
