We are a small animal rescue specializing in pot bellied pigs in Pictou County, Nova Scotia.

Every few weeks I try to reset spaces for the animals, so that they have new and fun things to do with our limited space and budget.
I try to thrift and make as much of their enrichment as I can. Today's creations are an old metal light shade that I've turned into a hay feeder, with little wood hangings, a rattle from the thrift store, and an extra piece of plywood and some zip ties into a shelf to add space.
You can do so much with so little if you turn on the creative parts in your brain ❤️
I find myself feeling guilty that I cant do more but am trying to remember how dang hard I try 🥰
Here's to another year of doing our absolute best 😂🎉

Find a pal to snuggle up with, and watch movies, this Holiday season 😂❤️🎄
We are having a quiet Christmas at home this year, just us and the animals.
We are so thankful for all the donations and support we have recieved and always try our best to help those around us when possible.
Be light and spread love this Christmas, when the world needs it more than ever!

I have never in all my years met entitlement like this 😂
Meelo is nothing, if not an agent of chaos.
We occasionally store feed and other things down that hallway. You would be shocked, (or maybe not if you know pigs) at how many are willing to jump over and off the back of the couch to get to it!! I've decided if they're can work that hard, they can all get jobs!

I spy with my little eye : a fluffy jerk who refuses to come inside 😂💛❄️
This boy LOVES the snow and nothing will keep him from his destiny ! He is also the only one brave enough to be outside today. Everyone else is nestled in their beds and barns, dreaming of warmer days.

Another cold and snowy day on the farm! We want to thank everyone again for the gifts from our Amazon wishlist and wanted to post a list of used items we always keep our eye out for as well, in case you have a cupboard youre looking to empty! ❄️

💛 Blankets (the biggest hot ticket item!)

💛 Building Supplies (in major need of any plywood at the moment)

💛 Pet toys (cat, dog, bird, rabbit etc)

💛 Small animal habitats (example: hamster cage used for disabled baby bird 😂)

💛 VOLUNTEERS! If you or anyone you know would be into some dirty and rewarding farm work, we always appreciate helping hands

Today we focus on keeping the waters thawed, and keeping our tempers cool as we battle the overstimulation that comes with allowing this many animals, access to your home 😂

I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you strong and beautiful Dandelions, who have helped support us with kind words, donations, gifts for the animals, and for believing in what we try to create here.
If I could thank every single one of you in person, I would!
There is a cohesiveness amongst species on the farm that feels magical and unique at times.

(Please note: dogs are always supervised with the pigs, with one or both mom's ready to jump in if there were ever an issue, but we are very lucky to have such gentle souls)

‼️ we want to reiterate that NONE OF OUR ANIMALS HAVE BEEN HURT OR KILLED‼️
The pig in the video and photos circling in Pictou Groups is alive and well and asleep in his pen with his siblings!
DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ONLINE!

This woman who owns an empty plot of land in our community, but lives elsewhere, is threatening, harassing, lying, and slandering us. It has gotten out of control and at times, scary. I cannot believe I have to post this video.

At this point we have done all we can to disprove her lies and need to focus our time on keeping this person away, and most importantly, continuing to keep our animals safe and happy.

‼️There are lies circling that a member of our community has shot and killed 8 pigs and 2 goats. We want to assure everyone this is slander and lies and all goats and pigs are present and accounted for.
Please do not believe everything you read online‼️ we believe this woman is dangerous and have contacted the authorities.

Community Update

Over the past few years, our rescue has unfortunately been the target of ongoing harassment and false allegations. This has been extremely difficult and stressful for us, and we want to take a moment to address it with transparency and respect.

We want to reassure our supporters and our community that animal welfare authorities, the SPCA, and local police have all visited and confirmed that our animals are healthy, well-cared-for, and safe. We are grateful to these agencies for their professionalism and for taking every concern seriously.

Despite these findings, the harassment has continued, and the situation has escalated to the point where authorities have had to be involved multiple times. This has affected our mental well-being and the peaceful operation of our rescue, and we feel it is important to let our community know what we have been dealing with.
The harassment has continued. The individual responsible does not live near our rescue, yet repeatedly drives to our property, slows down to film and photograph us, and posts these images online — sometimes even recycling old photos in an attempt to mislead others. This ongoing behavior has been extremely distressing and has required multiple police reports.

Our focus will always remain on providing a safe, loving environment for the animals in our care, and we refuse to let false claims distract from that mission. However, we also want to ensure our safety and the safety of our animals moving forward.

If anyone in our community has legal knowledge or experience with harassment/stalking situations, we would truly appreciate any guidance or resources you might be able to share. You can reach out to us privately.

✨ Happy 9th Birthday, Erik! ✨
Today we celebrate someone incredibly special, the very first pig we ever rescued, the one who changed everything for us.

When Erik came into our lives, we had no idea how deeply one pig could impact our hearts. He arrived with a quiet strength, a gentle soul, and a personality that made it impossible not to fall in love. He taught us that pigs are not “just pigs,” but intelligent, emotional, hilarious beings who deserve safety, love, and respect.

Erik was the first to show us what rescue truly means, the healing, the trust-building, the small victories, and the joy of watching a once-uncertain animal blossom into his full, beautiful self. Because of him, we knew we had to do more. He is the reason we started this rescue. Every life we’ve saved since is part of his legacy.

Nine years later, Erik is still reminding us to slow down, appreciate the little things, and never underestimate the difference compassion can make. He loves his naps, his snacks, his scratches, and his freedom, all the things every pig deserves.

Happy Birthday, sweet Erik.
Thank you for being our beginning, our inspiration, and our constant reminder of why we do this. We love you more than you’ll ever know. ❤️🐷🎉

We hope everyone had a fantastically spooky Halloween 🎃
We will be collecting uncarved, unpainted pumpkins for the next week or so to give to the animals as a special, and very healthy, treat !
