you asked, we answered:

How you can prevent stomach torsion in the large breed dogs that are susceptible to it?

deep chested breeds are the most susceptible to bloat. A gastro pexy ( suturing the stomach to the side of the body wall) can help reduce the risk. this procedure can be done at spay/neuter time. It is also recommended to not feed in raised bowls. Feeding smaller more frequent meals and slowing down eating using lick matts/slow bowls/ puzzle feeders can also help. Avoid excessive drinking of large volumes of water, as well as avoiding exercise near meal times ( want to wait 1-2 hours)

1.Why do blue eyed cats eyes go red in the light?
answer:
Siamese and light coloured eyed cats lack pigment at the back of their eyes causing the reflection to be red

2.Is it safe for dogs to eat raw bones/hooves?
answer: offering these items can cause harm to the teeth due to their hard nature which can cause the enamel to wear or fractures of the teeth. If you are wanting to still offer these to your dog, we recommend checking their mouth often to look for breaks in the surface of the teeth as they may require dental work to remove any broken teeth

Check out these catching skills!! How well can your dog catch??

With the help of our friend Ted, we are learning how to brush a dog's teeth today! This is super helpful for minimizing plaque build up in our pet's mouths and is an important part of our pet's routine dental care.

We are excited for round two of our vaccine clinics tonight. We have a little sunshine today. We had a lot of fun in Estevan with the Browning Multiple 4-H Club and loved getting to see our clients and equine patients. Join us for a FREE BBQ with the SOO LINE LIGHT HORSE CLUB and get a chance to speak to Janie from ZOETIS on Platinum Performance Supplements and all about horse vaccines. Trailers come to the SOUTH SIDE Parking lot and check in with our RVT Janelle through the overhead door upon arrival. Did you know that the Core EQ vaccine is micro filtered making this one of the very lowest reaction vaccines available. Calling all horse owners. Please be aware that there has already been two cases of RABIES in horses this spring in Southeast Saskatchewan. RABIES is a 100% fatal and a 100% preventable. How do you protect the ones we count on so much, we VACCINATE them. What do you need to know. The vaccine must be administered by a veterinarian and is combined with West Nile, Tetanus and Sleeping Sickness. The vaccine is very safe and is low reactivity so it won't create lumps or soreness in 97.3% of horses. We want to keep our horse community safe and we are offering a vaccine clinic specially where you can get your horse vaccinated against this fatal disease. If you have questions about cost please call the clinic at 306-910-7242 as we are prohibited from posting prices online with SVMA regulations. If protecting our horses wasn't the only motivation we needed, the SOO LINE LIGHT HORSE 4-H CLUB will be in attendance serving a FREE BBQ and the first 30 people will get a free cooler chair courtesy of ZOETIS.
