Planning a getaway with your furry companion? Whether it's a road trip or a flight, pet travel requires prep to keep them safe, calm, and comfortable.

✅ Top Tips for Traveling with Pets:

🐶 Plan Ahead:
Check pet policies for hotels, airlines, and destinations. Not all places are pet-friendly!

🚗 Car Travel:
Use a secured crate or pet seatbelt harness. Never let your pet roam freely in the car—or ride with their head out the window.

✈️ Air Travel:
Contact airlines in advance about pet requirements. Ensure carriers are airline-approved and comfortable for your pet.

Fireworks, food, and festivities can be fun for us — but stressful and dangerous for our furry friends. Let’s keep them safe this July 1st!

🎆 Fireworks & Loud Noises:
Many pets are terrified of fireworks. Keep them indoors in a quiet, secure room with soothing music or white noise. Never bring them to firework displays.

🍔 BBQ Hazards:
Avoid feeding pets table scraps! Common BBQ foods like onions, garlic, corn cobs, alcohol, and bones can be toxic or cause choking.

🚪 Doors & Gates:
Guests coming and going? Make sure pets don’t slip out unnoticed. Keep ID tags and microchips up to date—just in case.

🌞 Heat & Dehydration:
Keep fresh water available at all times and never leave pets in hot cars or unshaded areas.

💥 Glow Sticks & Decorations:
These may look fun, but they're a choking or poisoning hazard for curious cats and dogs.

🚨 WARNING: Blue-Green Algae Can Be Deadly to Pets & Livestock 🚨

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) in ponds, lakes, and stagnant water — and it’s more dangerous than you might think.

💧 What is it?
Blue-green algae is a toxic bacteria that can look like green scum, paint, or pea soup on the water’s surface.

🐶 Pets: Just swimming in or drinking contaminated water can cause vomiting, seizures, liver failure — even death — in minutes.

🐄 🐎 Cattle & Horses: Grazing near or drinking from infected water sources can result in serious illness or sudden death.

⚠️ Signs of Exposure:

Drooling or vomiting

Muscle tremors

Weakness or collapse

Breathing problems

Disorientation

✅ Protect Your Animals:
