UPDATE: Aversive tools are NOT banned in Scotland. Thank you to everyone that helped to update the list. :)

“What do Austria, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Quebec, Wales, Italy, and Scotland have in common?’

They have all banned aversive training tools and recognize animals as sentient beings.” - Michael Shikashio

So easy for some people to judge reactive dogs. ‼️
What those people fail to understand is they can be just ONE incident away from exactly the same.
That is all it takes for some dogs to become reactive.
Please... have some empathy and understanding for just how exhausting it can be for people who have a reactive dog.

Give them a small wave as you give them some SPACE.

Sometimes the kindest gesture you can make is just recognising that the person at the end of that leash is often doing everything they can.

Did you know that when the air temperature is 25°C, asphalt can reach a scorching 52°C? By the time it's 31°C outside, the pavement can sizzle at a dangerous 62°C! 🥵

Protect your furry friends' paws this summer by checking the ground temperature before walks. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws. Stay safe and keep your pets cool!

Benefits of Muzzle Training Your Dog

Any dog can wear a muzzle! In addition to protecting your pup from grabbing garbage, or eating poo, muzzles are safe, effective tools that can help even the friendliest dogs get through stressful situations safely.

A muzzle worn at the vet — especially if your pooch is already sick or in pain, accidents happen! — ensures the safety of your dedicated vet staff during blood draws, nail trims, and other procedures.

Muzzles can also play an important role after a vet visit. A basket muzzle is a great to prevent your pup from licking or chewing at stitches or a wound.

Muzzles can be helpful for dogs who obsessively grab and eat things off the ground while on walks or other adventures, often ending up with gastrointestinal obstructions. Does your dog eat p**p? Certain muzzles have design options to prevent them from snacking on "turd treats."

Dog breeds such as Greyhounds or other sighthounds, often wear muzzles while they are running and playing to prevent injuries from their instinctual urge to chase and grab.

Muzzles can also deter people from interacting with a fearful dog who just needs space.

Owners of dogs with behaviour histories often move more naturally and confidently when their dog is wearing a muzzle — and this is extremely important during training and behaviour modification work.

Be open minded as a dog guardian when you meet dogs with muzzles, its not all bad.

It's so important when hiring a dog trainer to ask questions. Make sure that both you and your dog will be treated with kindness in a learning environment free of fear, pain & intimidation.
