ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A FOREVER FAMILY

Dearest Santa, I've been a really, really good boy. I work hard on becoming braver and braver every day, and I'm not sure what else I need to do to get you to grant me my wish. I've been waiting for a family for a very long time, and I really don't want to spend my second Christmas in rescue. I would much rather celebrating with people who love and want me forever! Santa will you please grant my wish this year? I promise to continue being the bestest boy I can be!

Very sad

Matthew Perry has died.

The actor, who was best known for playing Chandler Bing on Friends, was found dead at a Los Angeles-area home on Saturday. "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother," his family said in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.

We are doing are best at K9 Manners to service as many clients in the Durham Region as possible, unfortunately the demand is greater than our ability to service. We will continue to service current clients and as spots open first priority will go to those who have already registered online. There are many restrictions due to government shutdown and restrictions due to Covid. We want everyone to remain safe and that is the first priority. I understand how frustrating it is to new dog owners and those who have taken on rescues who may require a little extra help.
I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
Please stay safe, it is a difficult time for everyone.

It is true...and not to make anyone paranoid but theft is on the rise in some areas. People are desperate (no excuse) to get a pet during the pandemic still. Shelters are no longer full due to brisk adoptions, when a dog goes up many many applications come in. Breeders (if you do choose to go that way do your research, ask to see the parents on site, are they registered etc) are backlogged up to a year and a half. As responsible breeders do not over breed!

Just this weekend a store manager I know almost had her dog stolen from Trenton Dog Park. Luckily the woman put the dog down and ran when questioned. Always keep an eye on your pets sadly...even in very public areas. :(

‼️‼️ How to Protect Your Pets ‼️‼️

Keep your pets indoors, especially when you are not at home. Do not leave your pets unsupervised in your yard; it only takes a minute for thieves to steal your beloved companion animals. Keep your pet on a leash and do not let your pet roam free in your neighborhood. Never leave your pet alone in a car. Never tie your dog up outside of a store even "just for a minute". Research shows it can take 30 seconds to approach and abscond with a friendly dog.

Properly identify your pets with a collar, tag, and microchip.

Ensure your pets are spayed and neutered; fixed animals are less likely to wander away from home.

Keep recent photos and written descriptions of your companion animals on hand at all times, and maintain up-to-date records and licenses on all of your pets.

Be aware of strangers in your area and report anything unusual, such as suspicious neighborhood activities or a surge in missing pets, to local police and animal control.

‼️‼️ What to Do If Your Pet Is Stolen or Goes Missing ‼️‼️

Call the police; if your pet is stolen, ask to file a report so there is a record of the theft.

Contact your local animal control department, animal shelters, and pounds in your area. You can also file a lost pet report with each shelter.

Canvass your neighborhood and put up "missing" flyers/posters with an up-to-date photo of your dog along with accurate contact information. Make them big and bright! Also a sign on your front lawn with a big bright poster.

Search online "lost dog" websites (such as Quinte Lost Dog Network and Quinte West Lost Paws) to see if someone has found your pet.

Be aware of scams! People may claim to have your pet and insist on a reward before turning the animal over to you. If a stranger calls saying they've found your pet, make sure they give you a very detailed description of your pet. Ask for a photo...who doesn't have a cell phone or email anymore...not many people!

My dear human,
I see that you are crying, for it is my moment to leave. Don't cry, please. I want to explain some things to you.
You're sad because I left, but I'm glad I met you.
How many dogs like me die daily without meeting someone special like you?
I know it saddens you my departure, but I had to go now.
I want to ask you not to blame yourself for anything. I heard you sobbing that you should have done something else for me. Don't say that, you've done a lot for me! Without you I would have known nothing of the beauty I carry with me today.
You must know that we animals live the present intensely and we are very wise: we enjoy every little thing every day, and forget the bad past quickly. Our lives begin when we know love, the same love you gave me, my angel without wings and two legs.
Know that even if you find an animal that is seriously injured, and that you only have a little bit of time in this world, you provide a huge service by accompanying you in your final transition.
None of us likes to be alone, except when we realize it's time to leave.
Maybe for you it's not so important that one of you is next to us caressing us and holding our paw, helps us go in peace.
No more crying, please. I'll be happy. I have in memory the name you gave me, the warmth of your house that in this time became mine. I take the sound of your voice talking to me, even though I don't always understand what you were saying to me.
I carry in my heart every caress you gave me.
Everything you did was very valuable to me and I thank you endlessly, I don't know how to tell you, because I don't speak your language, but surely in my eyes you could see my gratitude.
I'm just gonna ask for two favors. Wash your face and start smiling.
Remember how good we live together these moments, remember the antics I made to cheer you up.
Relive like me all the good we share in this time.
And do not say you will not adopt another animal, because you have suffered a lot from my departure. Without you I would not live the beauties I lived.
Please don't do this! There are many like me waiting for someone like you.
Give them what you gave me, please, they need it just like I needed you.
Don't keep the love you have to give, for fear of suffering.
Follow my advice, cherish the good you share with each of us, recognizing that you are an angel to us animals, and that without people like you our life would be harder than sometimes it is.
Follow your noble task, now it's up to me to be your angel.
I will accompany you in your path and help you help others like me.
I will talk to other animals who are here with me, I will tell you everything you have done for me and I will point and say proudly: "that's my family".
Tonight, when you look at the sky and see a blinking star I want you to know that it's me flashing an eye; warning you that I arrived well and telling you "thank you for the love you gave me".
I say goodbye now not saying " goodbye ", but " see you later ".
There is a special sky for people like you, the sky where we go and life reward us by making us meet there.
I'll be waiting for you!"
