🐾🩷 Co-operative care training is all about teaching dogs to willingly participate in their own grooming, handling, or even medical care. It helps them feel relaxed and gives them some control over what’s happening to them.
Teaching Your Dog to Wear a Hat:
1. Introduce the Hat: Hold the hat out, let your dog sniff it, and reward them with a treat. Keep it positive and relaxed!
2. Touch the Head: Place the hat gently on top of their head for just a second, then reward immediately. Keep the vibe super chill and fun.
3. Short Stays: Once they’re comfy with it touching their head, try leaving the hat there a moment longer. Give a treat right after each little "stay" with the hat on.
4. Build Duration: Gradually add a few more seconds each time the hat stays on. Make it feel like a game, with rewards for their patience.
5. Big Finale: Finally, snap a quick photo once they’re cool with it! Keep treats handy to keep them happy in the hat.
Easy, positive, and all about making it a fun experience!
