Many of us have been missing the very well loved beef sticks in the recognizable red netting. Sadly, our previous supplier experienced a difficult challenge (we wish them well 💗) and pet stores like me have been left without stock virtually overnight. I’ve been on the hunt ever since to find a new line that I am completely satisfied with for your, and my own, doggos. And boy am I excited to bring in this amazing Ontario brand, Barnies - Horse and Pet!
Barnies is a small company with big hearts in Whitby On. They are a CFIA, USDA, FDA inspected facility and has been making horse and dog treats for the retail industry for 25 years and are carried in 2500 stores across Canada.
They pride themselves on being one of the first in Canada to make dehydrated, human grade treats with no additives for dogs (almost two decades ago) 👏🏻
Barnie’s uses very lean beef so their treats aren’t greasy, and have an added 6% milled beef bone for calcium, plus known vitamins like E and C, and natural cultures, to assist with preservation rather than rely solely on curing salts which many other brands do.
They also have big hearts! Within their facility, they operate a pet food bank that distributes food across Ontario and served 1.5 million meals last year. What an incredible way to support struggling pet owners to provide for their beloved pets during these difficult times. Thank you for what you do! 💗
