Things we do, that maybe other groomers don’t do:

1. We NEVER shave bellies and sani areas with less a 7f blade. Why? Because it causes razor burn and skin irritation on anything less. This is proven over my 33 years of grooming.
We recommend coming in for a bath and tidy between grooming clips to keep area clean.

2. We DON’T recommend shaving double coated breeds. They are double coated for a reason. Shaving them can cause skin issues, coats to come back in poorly, some breeds it will cause Alopecia and this is not reversible.

3. We DO recommend only bathing certain breeds of shedding dogs like shepherds, labs, etc only 4-5 times a year at best if at all possible. This aids in not stripping their natural oils, maintaining less orders, drying their skin out. BUT we recommend a regular deshed . We have deshed programs in place in healthy coats.

4. We do a**l glands when absolutely necessary but find regular expressions of them when no problem is present, can cause lazy a**l gland syndrome.

5. We Do recommend regular nail trimming. We have a nail program in place. Pay for the first one, in two weeks come back for a follow up on us.

6. We Do recommend regular ear and teeth cleaning. It helps avoid a lot of problems.

7. We DO offer special shampoo based on your dogs coat and breed, as well as any skin issues.

8. We DO offer breed standards clips and will offer suggestions on how to best to keep their coats nice.

9. We DO NOT offer excessive dematting due to the irritation and bruising that it can cause and the injury risks involved.

10. We DO know pet first aid and are the first to step up and let you know if something happens and how to get through whatever may occur.

11. We are ALWAYS open to fixing or touching up anything you may not be happy with. We understand the clip might not be perfect but we will do our best for first the comfort of the animal and coat condition. Not happy? Call us and we will do our best to fix it.

12. We NEVER use a razor on dogs eye area. It causes fear and can risk irritation, as most blades go too short in my opinion for this area. Scissors , when used properly are way less stressful and don’t scare majority of dogs.

13. We DO pluck the hair from non shed dogs ears, as its typically less likely they will develop regular ear infections due to wax and dirt buildup in the hair. This is not necessary for shedding breeds by normal standards, as they need them cleaned but NOT plucked.

Christmas Pictures will be taken on by son Donald in evenings at the shop. Please text him for appts @ 587-357-0530
Cost will be $25 per session and you will be sent an email with the file to print at will.
If you would like to book an appt:
Please text him with dog(s) name and breed. How many dogs, your name and email address for the pictures to be sent.

He will be working with me the first few appts so we are on the same page and I will edit and sent photos. I will get the information from him.
Evenings will be easiest, as it is too much distraction with the coming and goings of daycare and grooming dogs. I will also arrange the weekends with him in the afternoon. If you need a weekend appt please let him know. Saturdays will be available after 2pm.
Donald and I look forward to seeing the dogs!
