Moon, a 1.5 year old socialized female and her kitten buddy are looking for homes due to my son’s current situation and having to move to find work. If you know anyone who would be a good home for either of them, please reach out to me. Neither are fixed, but the female just went through her second heat this past two months. This is a very hard choice for him to make.

Recently, there was a post on Facebook about us being abusive towards animals and people. I would like to address that post. There are times when people come in with aggressive cats or dogs and want to help, and don’t seem to take no as an answer. We try our best to “suggest to somebody” to leave, and that the animal will be best behaved with the owner gone, as their energy can also upset an animal. This particular person has come in a number of times with an old senior cat of 24 years old, that is quite thin skinned and matted .There a few times that people have held the animals and we have gotten bit and ended up on antibiotics and left with infections due to the bites. If we ask somebody to help, we will let you know what to do, as our biggest priority is the animal and their safety well-being groomed.
I will not deny at times the barking in the back gets to the people in the back bathroom dogs, and they have yelled inappropriately to tell them to shut up. I have been working with the staff and training to help eliminate such stressful moments, but sometimes people forget, and you will hear yelling at the dogs to tell them to stop barking . We are in no way abusive to animals and we try our best to maintain our own insanity at times when there is a particularly barky dog and Day.
We are still human and we work with a lot of dogs and we try our best at all times. This business has been one of learning and patience with new staff.
I will not discipline staff in front of clientele because I think that is not appropriate, but rest assured we do talk about things that need to be corrected. I choose to Groom upfront because we like to have an open approach with people and that they can see what is happening . I can tell you that after 33 years of grooming that there are dogs and cats that have been neglected in their grooming, that may have bad experiences previous, that need work to help them get through the Groom based on many different things, from Pain to behaviour. This is not always a glamorous job and would do our best to get through it.
Yes, sometimes groomers have a bad day and get snappy … and we apologize in advance.
