Moss Spur Ranch is a small family-run horse breeding and training barn. Standing Echo Amos Hollywood, AQHA palomino stallion.

Breeding good horses with great minds! We are focusing more on breeding these days with our nice stallion Echo Amos Hollywood and a few nice AQHA mares. Experienced trainer offers horse training from start to show pen finishing. While our focus is on western riding, we welcome any breed and discipline.

2022 AQHA filly, MSR Echos Berry “Harley” is a big stout 2yr old. She’s had some ground work and been saddled a few times. Smart, willing and level headed she’s a great prospect. Currently just over 15hh, she should finish minimum 15.2hh. Loads easily, good to trim hooves, very good manners, stands tied, enjoys training and attention.

Yay!!!! We got the alleyway fence finished with board and electric wire. The “far pen” now has nice metal gates, one 16’ and one 4’ man gate, and a fence line hay feeder. I love how it looks and it’s so much more functional!!! It will be so much easier now to get horses (especially sometimes sketchy new ones) in and out. And if we ever need to, the 16’ gate opens to the far side of the alleyway so we could run horses in. Thank you so much Joe!! I so appreciate all the work you do and how skilled you are!

What a year here at Moss Spur Ranch. Both 1st & 2nd crops were baled without getting rained on. We only had 8 acres of hay land to work with this year because the other field was worked up last year and seeded down to wheat and timothy this spring.
First crop we managed to get 66 round bales. Second crop was only 10 1/2 but a very good quality. Echo Amos Hollywood should love it all winter!!
The timothy that was seeded in caught very good and hopefully we get good results the next few years. The wheat yield was 60 bushels per acre and we got 32 big round bales from it.
Now it’s time to wash off equipment, grease it and put it away for the winter!

Spent some time with the horses today!🥰 Little Charlie is growing like a w**d and so sweet. Got some new pictures of Joker, the sorrel 2 yr old and Gunner, palomino yearling c**t. Joker and Gunner are both available for sale, excellent young prospects.

Welcome to the world “Charlie”! Vista had this sweet boy about 1am Saturday night (Sunday morning). Everything went very well and both mom and baby are doing great! They are already out with Missy and Molly, in their regular pen and pasture. 🥰 Vista is an excellent mom, and Charlie is sweet and very attached to his momma!🥰🥰

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends! Was a lovely mild winter day and the horses were certainly enjoying the sunshine. 😁
