Sold!!! Hard to tell that Brandy’s had more than a year off since being worked or ridden. Lovely young mare available.
Here at Moss Spur Ranch we like to make sure the horses have free choice of hay. One way is that we roll out round bales on the ground for them as a natural way of their grazing. We started doing that during the winter months when we got some hay that was a little dusty. We were pleasantly surprised as to how much the horses cleaned up and the horses with health issues didn’t show any signs of it. So every winter since we’ve rolled out bales and have had good results. Plus very little waste.
So last spring we started thinking of how we could make this chore easier. Up until then we would push the bale with the loader to unroll it and would have to drive on it as we unrolled it. It worked but if the ground was wet the hay would be ruined.
The last couple of months we’ve been working on a hydraulic driven bale unroller for the front end loader. Today we finally got to use it and were quite impressed with its performance.
MSR Hollywoods Deuce 2019 APHA gelding
Sold pending pickup. MSR Hollywoods Deuce
We are pleased to offer for your consideration this wonderful 3yr old APHA solid bred gelding, MSR Hollywoods Deuce. Absolutely wonderful disposition and incredibly willing. Deuce has been ridden in a fundamentals on the trail clinic and out on trail rides, where he’s crossed water, encountered ATVs and other vehicles, and negotiated a variety of obstacles with ease. He’s been to show and did well even with limited riding prior. He hauls like a dream, stands tied nicely and really seems to enjoy going out and doing new things. He’s only been ridden intermittently this year due to my schedule, but is always good to go with just a couple minutes of ground work to prep him. He’s currently about 15.1hh and should mature around 15.2hh. Asking 6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ obo.

Turning mares out in middle pasture.
Combining groups and turning out in a new pasture! Today we put our 2, 3yr old geldings, Ace and Deuce in with our mare and foals and changed pastures. All went very well and the boys are being quite respectful. 🥰
Weather was finally nice enough to leave Missy and Joker out for the afternoon. Hopefully we get a few days of nice weather so they can be out during the day!
Deuce, 2yr old APHA solid bred gelding
This is part of Deuce’s sixth ride. The ground was too wet and slippery to ride out in the grass arena, so we went back to the round pen. He’s coming along really well and will be available for sale in the near future. (Not that I really want to let him go!)🥰
Deuce, 2yr old gelding 3rd ride.
This is Deuce our 2yr old gelding by Echo Amos Hollywood and out of a big black, solid bred APHA mare. This is his 3 ride ever, the first was early spring and I did a walk/jog on him last week. He’s got a great attitude and after our session in the round pen we took him out and Kyra rode him over a few obstacles in the arena. This guy has a bright future ahead of him!🥰🥰
Filling hay shed July 2021
Feels exhausting, but so good to have our shed completely full of hay! Barely have room for the equipment that needs to be stored in there!
Rolling up first crop on Canada day!
What a good feeling to get the hay off with no rain. We got 61 bales off of our 18 acres. Now if we would only get some rain!!
Ace, first day with full size saddle and bridle.
Was a great weekend!!! Had wonderful weather to get a good start working with Ace and Deuce our 2yr old geldings by Echo Amos Hollywood! Both are doing great and close to being ready to ride. Big brother Max (3) is also getting back into the swing of riding and is feeling really good. Looking forward to the season!
