Vista and I went to a clinic today on “Building the relationship with your dog” with Cassandra Lynn Beach who does Protection Sport Assoc competition. Vista had a good time and I picked up on some new ideas. It doesn’t matter what sport we do with our 4 legged friends, it always comes back to the relationship with his handler. Planning started at the BSDCC 2019 National. We were brainstorming for a good breeding using older lines. Terri Mrus came up with the idea to talk it over with Dermott Young. Klaar Belgians imported Perfect of the Two and Susan Quesnel of Atim imported litter sister, Passion of the Two. Dermott had frozen semen from Perfect’s son, Ghost, and I had Passion’s great-great-grand daughter, Xena. So we made the arrangements and the semen is sitting in Edmonton waiting for Xena to join the program. It’s all arranged with Cindy Bazin to host us while Crestwood does the implant, just waiting for Xena. So this Wed., Dr Bonnie Henry announces a shut down on travel in BC due to COVID. Today Xena has decided to start her heat! I thought Xmas would be bad! Thank goodness for Dr. Doug from Animal Care Hospital in WL. He has agreed to do implant, Crestwood will send semen Purolator on Tuesday (have to charge container) and then we can start praying for puppies.

My life at the moment...
Fudge had 2 pups Thursday but her milk dried up Sat. Vet thinks she may have infection from retained placenta but this means that I feed every 2 hours 2.3cc of milk replacer. So far they’ve gained 10 grams each today so I must be doing ok but another night of naps to look forward to.

Xen finished her Herding Started title with TWO High in Trials. Special thanks to Wendi Daechsel, her “other mother”. She spent Aug & Sept with Wendi and is now home with us, gearing up for roundup next week. I’m sure her HS on cows will help.
