We had a feature on sweet Mabel last month, so you may remember she presented with GDV, or bloat. GDV is a very serious emergency that requires immediate veterinary help.

It is very scary and often very sudden, so we wanted to make sure everyone knows that we do offer prophylactic gastropexy: a surgery that works to help prevent GDV from occurring later in life. If you have a deep-chested, larger breed dog that you are considering having spayed or neutered, please know that the surgeries can be performed on the same day.
