What better way to explain how exams work at Brack than with our own. This is Scout, and he came in for his yearly check-up. With larger dogs, we start with a weight check (smaller dogs and cats will get weighed on smaller scales with the technician), and then the reception team will get you set up in an exam room. The doctor and technician then come in to take a history about your pet, making sure there are no concerns. If you do have a concern, they will work with you and your pet to resolve those issues. Every pet gets a head to tail exam, including an oral health check, heart and lung check, and abdominal palpation, as you can see here on Scout.
We are also a fear free clinic, and we do our best to work with your pet. Scout gets really wiggly for vaccines, so we used a lick mat to distract him. If your pet has food sensitivities like he does, you are welcome to bring treats your pet can have. When the exam is done, the technician will get anything additional you may need, and then it's off to reception to finish up.
Scout did great and visited the whole front team before we were off.
We hope this helps answer any questions you may have and makes the vet visit a little less scary
