Trooper came in the other day for his yearly check-up, and his Mom shared these adorable pictures with us. They were too cute to keep to ourselves, so we figured we'd share them with all of you (with Mom's permission, of course). ❀️😍🐰
And don't worry, Trooper is super tolerant and doesn't mind his santa sweater

Does your pet get any special medications compounded from Chiron??
If so, we strongly recommend calling in/online refilling any prescriptions before December 16. Also, keep in mind that weather can delay deliveries and may cause unexpected delays

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the hospital!
The tree is up and being decorated with some pretty cute pet ornaments, and with the flurries today, how could it not put you in the mood πŸŽ„πŸŒ¨
We hope you're starting to feel it too πŸ˜„
Does your pet get involved in the decorating?? If so, show us some of those 🐾 If not, do you have any special ornaments to symbolize your pet?

Speaking of ornaments, a friendly reminder that some holiday decorations are not safe for pets and should be avoided. If this is your pets first christmas or the first time you're decorating, it may be best to decorate when you can watch their reaction and make sure they dont get themselves into trouble.
Tinsel and string decorations can cause big problems if eaten, so it may be best to avoid those all together. Some ornaments can also explode if hit by a happy tail or knocked off by inquisitive paws, so keep those ones up high. It's also best to try and hide those electrical cords if possible, as some pets may try to chew on them.

With that being said, hopefully they'll all be on their best behaviour, so they can stay on Santa Paws' nice list

Have you noticed our pets seem to get even cuter as they age? (Seriously, how do they do that?)

As they grow into their grey whiskers, we naturally start to worry more about their health. November is National Senior Pet Health Awareness Month, and we are sharing some tips to help our aging pets thrive and live their best lives as they mature!

Do you have a senior pet? Do you have a senior pet? Share a photo of them below, we'd love to see them!

WE WANNA SEE YOUR HALLOWEEN BABIES πŸŽƒ πŸ‘»

With Halloween right around the corner, we're guessing you may have some cute shots of your pets all dressed up! Let us know what your Halloween plans are, and if you're visiting us on Facebook, share a photo below πŸ“Έ

Remember, never force your pet to dress up as it can cause unnecessary stress. Halloween can be scary for some pets, so staying home snuggled up with a Halloween movie might be best, and watch those trick or treats as most candy/chocolate is toxic to pets 🍬 🍫 🍭

Last week was Vet Tech week, and boy, did I try to get pics of our wonderful technicians! They were however, just too darn busy taking care of your pets to sit still, so we have to settle for this little banner 😜
From assisting our doctors in rooms to taking care of your pets in treatment, our technicians have an extensive list of tasks they perform to help give your pet the best care possible. Let's give them a big round of applause πŸ™Œ πŸ‘

Hey, it's me Dr. Scout again, coming to you with a new message!
With spooky season approaching, let's talk about something that some pets find super scary 😨 the dreaded vet visit! It's important to remember that a visit to the clinic can be a very scary thing for your pet, whether it's for a routine check-up, a health concern, or just a nail trim. This fear can show as, but is not limited to: excessive panting, shaking, reactivity, and/or aggression.

So what can you do?

Although we can never truly make a visit fear free for some pets, you can set them up to have their best experience by:
- letting us know if your pet is nervous and may need a longer appointment time to adjust
- bringing your pet in for free happy visits, where they come in to say hi and get a treat or just walk around and go without anything "bad" happening
- bringing your pets favourite people or treats (especially if they have food sensitivities) to help distract them
- using calming sprays for carriers like feliway for cats prior to the visit
- following a fear free medication protocol as recommended by their vet before their appointment. Remember, it's not a bad thing if your pet requires fear free protocol

Keep in mind that we may have to reschedule an appointment if we can't reach a manageable environment for your pet, because we want what's best for them, and it can take time to find what works best ❀️
