Did you know we do dental x-rays? Sometimes what we see above the gum line does not tell the whole story. That is why we recommend dental x-rays with every dental cleaning. If your pet is showing signs of dental issues give us a call at 519-971-3100.
We will be without a doctor for the next number of Saturdays. This means Prescription refill requests cannot be accommodated. If your pet is running low on medication please call on Friday for the prescription to be filled by Saturday. If you call on Saturday your prescription will be filled on Monday. Thank you for your cooperation.
Did you know there is pet insurance? If you have insurance you have the peace of mind knowing that sickness and illness will be covered when they happen. There are many different policies out there.

Happy First Day of Summer! Remember to keep you and your furry companion cool out there!
We sure have had a warm spring this year! Summer doesn't start until June 21. Here are some tips to keep your pet save and healthy this summer! How are you helping your pet handle this heat?
Is your dog protected against Heartworm? Heart worm is passed by mosquitoes from dog to dog and is just what it sounds like, a worm that will live in the heart. It can cause heart and lung damage before you know it is there. Thankfully we can detect it early with annual testing. We can easily prevent it using a once a month heartworm prevention. You can even get heartworm prevention with flea and tick prevention all in one! Give us a call at 519-971-3100 to learn more about protecting your dog against heartworm!
This is what can happen when you leave your sweet dog with us for the day. Luna was in for spay last week and our registered veterinary technician could not help but cuddle with her during lunch.
Know before you go! As a pet owner, being prepared for travel is your responsibility. Additional requirements may apply depending on where the dog has been in the last 6 months and whether or not the dog was vaccinated in the United States. Use the CDC’s Q&A tool (the CDC “DogBot”) to determine what rules apply to your dog: https://www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs.html
YIKES! These are bladder stones removed from a dog yesterday. The dog had been showing signs of urinary tract infection. These stones were found on x-ray. This is why we recommend an x-ray of every pet with urinary tract infection signs. With proper diet this dog should remain stone free from now on.
We are hearing about a lot of ticks out there already. Is your dog protected? Deer Ticks can pass Lyme disease. Heartworm prevention starts June 1 but, your dog should be on flea and tick prevention all year round. Give us a call to get your dog's heartworm test booked and to pick up their flea and tick protection. 519-971-3100
It is Veterinary Receptionist week! Please join us in thanking our wonderful Client Service Rep Chris for all his hard work!
Our new signs are up! Nice, new sleek design. What do you think?
Our internet is back up and running. Thank you for your understanding!
Attention customers. Our internet is out. This means we have no phones or debit machine services.
Don't worry! We're still here. We are getting new signs installed soon!
Thank you to everybody for their condolences. Jinx is now home and is still holding a place of honour at the clinic along with his favourite toys.
A very sad day here at Ambassador Animal Hospital. Our clinic cat Jinx has crossed to the rainbow bridge. In the past week his health had taken a turn for the worst. We did all we could to keep him comfortable and he passed away knowing he was loved. Jinx joined the clinic as a young cat in 2009 and was known for his lively attitude. He will be missed.
Just a reminder, we will be closed tomorrow. We will be open for product and medication pick up on Saturday. If you need a refill please call us before 4pm today! 519-971-3100
Did you know ticks can be active above 0 degrees Celsius!? Yikes. That means here in Windsor and Essex County every season is tick season. Dogs should be on tick and flea prevention all year. (and Heartworm prevention June trough November) If you would like more information please contact us at 519-971-3100
Today is International Day of Happiness. Helping pets be healthy makes me happy. What makes you happy?
Theresa couldn't resist puppy cuddles today. Meet Stormie. She wasn't as much into the cuddles. We love seeing new pets!
