In 2011, Old Bull Farms were breeders of the top and second highest scoring 3-6 year old BWP mares in North America. Since then, we have also produced five of the highest scoring BWP foals in North America, as well as four second place finishers. In 2014 both t

he top scoring BWP filly and colt were bred by OBF. Lenox OBF still holds the record score of 88, the highest score ever awarded a BWP foal in North America. We are also honored to have bred the 2009 winner of Canada's Royal Winter Fair Lieutenant Governor's General Cup. Through the acquisition of embryo's from world class mares, and import of quality breeding stock from Europe, we have carefully amassed an impressive band of mares. Each year, we gain more insight into sport horse breeding by closely following leaders in the sport, visiting top breeding operations abroad, and being active members of several breed organizations. As breeders, we strive to improve upon a new generation of top young horses. It is surely an asset that Dr. Johnston holds Veterinary Board Certification in equine reproduction. His passion and professional qualifications have opened doors to access frozen semen from the world's most sought after warmblood stallions. As indexed by the WBFSH/FEI and the Top 100 Show Jumping Sire Rankings, our bloodlines contain some of the best producing jumping sires in the world. Examples among them include Voltaire, Heartbreaker, Concorde, Clinton, Escudo I, Lupicor, Numero Uno, Indoctro and Contender. We are unique in producing horses that have not just one, or two, but several "modern type" jumping stallions in their pedigrees. Great opportunity to purchase a World Class Foal born here in Nova Scotia. Caribou OBF is out of our top young mare Winter OBF (Emerald/Clinton/Heartbreaker) To say that we are proud of Winter is a understatement. She was the top scoring foal on the BWP Keuring Tour in 2022 as a foal and this year she was the top scoring mare of all age groups.Last winter, Winter OBF was backed and easily was walk, trot and canter under saddle. Old Bull Farms would like to Thank & Congratulate Mark Dean on his purchase of Charles OBF. Charles was classified as "Elite" at the recent BWP Keuring. Mark purchased his full sister Vivian OBF a few years ago. Charles(Emerald/Clinton/Heartbreaker) is a full sibling to a Approved BWP Stallion and several successfull show horses. On the Dam side he is a half brother to Marcus OBF who competed at the North American Young Jumpers Championships. Old Bull Farms strives to produce horses second to none. This requires support and we really appreciate clients like Mark and many others like him who make this possible.

A Huge Thank You to everyone who encouraged and supported our new venture Old Bull Equine Reproduction this past breeding season. We bred a lot of mares this year with fresh cooled and frozen semen. Only a handful did not get pregnant but it did take some persistence with a few. I really appreciate the patience people had with these difficult ones. It was the perfect amount of work or calls and was enjoyable as it always has been to work with clients/friends. We are also grateful to Avon Animal Hospital and it's amazing staff for their help and support. Looking forward to next year and feel free to contact me over the winter by email to get organized. Old Bull Farms would like to thank everyone who came to help and support our Keuring this past Monday.. A special Thank You to Beth Hiltz for picking up the Judge and Jury. Also to her and Heidi MacInnes for presenting some very nice young horses. Erin Cecchetto also presented two very nice horses. It takes a village and we were blessed with amazing weather. A special congratulations to Heidi MacInnes who kicked our butt in the score department with her lovely Diarado/Lupine C**t. We were fortunate to have the expertise and insight of BWP Judge Boudewijn Schepers. and we enjoy his company. Once again he was very complimentary of the quality of Warmbloods in Nova Scotia. This year he was assisted by Kimmy Vissers who was very helpful and breeds BWP Horses in Lexington Kt. Thank you all!!!
