Attention Valued Clients

We have been notified by the Essex County Veterinary Association that there is currently an outbreak of Parvo Virus in Windsor – Essex.
Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious unenveloped virus that affects dogs. Common clinical signs include lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Young puppies, senior pets, unvaccinated or immune – compromised dogs are particularly susceptible.
Parvo can be easily spread by fomites that are contaminated with the virus.
Give us a call if you are wondering if your pet has been vaccinated, as the largest step in preventing parvovirus is vaccination. Or if you need accurate information regarding what you can do to decrease or eliminate the risk of exposing. If your pet is not vaccinated try and avoid any high volume areas.

October is RVT Month!

RVTs are champions of the veterinary world, working their magic to keep our furry, feathered, and scaly friends healthy and happy. With hearts full of love and hands full of skill, RVTs are the ultimate pet whisperers, ensuring every tail wag, purr, and chirp is a sign of a job well done. Whether they’re assisting in surgeries, giving cuddles during check-ups, or running lab tests with the precision of a maestro, RVTs bring a unique blend of expertise and compassion to the table. They’re the first to notice when Mr. Whiskers isn’t quite himself or when Fido’s wag is a little off, making sure every pet gets the TLC they deserve. Their knack for calming nervous pet parents and explaining medical jargon in easy-peasy terms is just another reason why they’re so pawsome. And let’s not forget their never-ending quest for knowledge, always learning new tricks to stay on top of the latest in veterinary care. From playful puppy visits to handling emergency situations with grace and grit, RVTs are the glue that holds the vet clinic together. Their dedication shines through in every wagging tail and grateful purr, making them the true champions of pet health. As we celebrate RVT Month this October, NVA Canada gives a big round of ap-paws for our incredible RVTs, whose hard work, passion, and boundless love make the world a better place for all our animal companions.

Thank you to all our wonderful RVT's at Branton Animal Hospital 🐾

Looking for my furever home 🐾
Unfortunately my owners are unable to take care of me anymore. Thankfully the nice staff at Branton Animal Hospital took me in. I’m a 13 year old friendly boy, shy at first but after I warm up I give endless cuddles.
The team here is amazing & trying to find me a good home. Let one of them know if your interested.

Every Season is Flea & Tick Season!

Heartworm,Tick,Flea and Parasite prevention is crucial for your pet’s health.
Heartworm infection can be fatal & Ticks can spread at least 15 different tick-borne diseases including Lyme Disease.

The prevalence of ticks & Lyme disease is increasing in Canada. This is due to Climate Change, population of mammals & Migratory birds. Ticks begin looking for a host to feed on when the temperature is 4 degrees Celsius or above! 🌡

The best way to protect your pet against them is year round prevention, as these pests can cause problems anytime during the year.
Get connected with one of our caring team members today, to ensure your pet is receiving the proper prevention and is well protected.
Give us a call at our Hospital 519-253-3556.
