We are excited to announce that appointments for cat spay/neuter during the month of September will open TODAY at 12pm. Visit https://windsorhumane.org/book-an-appointment/ to book.
The WECHS Vet Clinic is a high-volume clinic focused on spaying/neutering cats. Please click "about" for more information and prices!
The clinic is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You must have an appointment, we do not accept walk-ins. To make an appointment, please visit our website https://windsorhumane.org/book-an-appointment. * There is a temporary hold on publicly booked dog surgeries to allow us to focus on and increase the availability of cat surgeries. The clinic was built to address a crisis of cat overpopulation and the H
S team is using their resources to focus on that.* In order to keep our prices low we ask that you book your appointments online yourselves, and view our information on our website regarding our prices and services offered. The staff are busy with high volume surgeries during the day, so phone calls cannot be answered and voicemails may take days to be returned. ( you can find immediate answers to your questions on our website)
Female cat spay - $50
Male cat neuter - $50
Please note that while we love hearing feedback about our services, the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (the governing organization for all vet clinics in Ontario) forbids veterinary clinics from posting client testimonials. If you find your comment has been deleted from this page, understand that we are only complying with the CVO.

Community Cat Caregivers. Thursday is reserved for only those who's cats we could not complete on Monday August 12, and were unable to source help from a veterinarian to spay/neuter them. A reminder that this is for Windsor/Essex County residents only.
Cat carriers are NOT accepted. If a cat comes in a pet cat carrier, you will be turned away. Must be 3lbs or will be declined. ONE cat per live humane trap. We cannot accept multiple cats in one trap. We cannot transfer cats to other traps for you. This needs to be done before you arrive. This is not safe for staff or the cat. There will be no exceptions.
If your trap door breaks and you want to bring your cat in a crate or cat carrier ( as this does happen) you will need to find a trap to put the cat into before arriving. We cannot make any exception for cat carriers because if we make one, we have to do the same for everyone. These rules apply for any community cats here for surgery.
Attention all community cat caregivers!
Help us help the cats and you. We wanted to provide a visual of our new consent forms and how they are to be completed. All fields MUST be completed.
If a field is unknown please put N/A.
Please note: the cat will be registered and microchipped to the owner/caregiver name, phone number and address.
In the example below we have two photos. The first photo is incorrect. If Fluffy is trapped and someone brings to the Humane Society, the microchip will say he/she belongs to Jane Doe at 1375 Provincial rd, and an animal control officer will bring the cat to 1375 Provincial to release it back. This would be dangerous for the cat to be released to an unfamiliar area.
Please put the animal name where the cat resides. If you only name the cat black feral or feral A or fluffy, it will be released where it’s registered which would be 1375 Provincial.
Photo 2 will show how to fill out the form.
It appears the cat is from 1341 Ouellette and NOT at 1375 Provincial where Jane lives. If Jane Doe feeds the cat at 1341 Ouellette, she should name the cat 1341 Ouellette and number them 1-5 if she has 5 from that location.
This will help in determining where exactly the community cat is from, instead of having lots in the system registered to your home address and risking the cat being released to the wrong location.

Due to the overwhelming response on Monday, August 12, we've had to make changes to the upcoming feral cat walk-in day on August 22. This day will now be RESERVED exclusively for caregivers whose cats did not receive surgery on August 12. Show up between 8am-9am. We still have your consent forms and records of the number of cats that were unable to be completed that day. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any walk-ins or additional cats beyond the number you initially brought in.
We appreciate your understanding and continued dedication to helping these community cats. 🐾

All dog owners who were anxious about the new travel requirements. the CDC just updated their website yesterday, stating ONLY the simple CDC dog import form is required now, when travelling from a no risk or low risk country (Canada is one). Microchip however is still required, and over 6 months of age.
Updates to CDC’s August 1 dog importation rule: If you are bringing a dog into the US from a dog rabies-free or low-risk country, you now only need to fill out the simple CDC Dog Import Form. Other forms are no longer needed. The requirements for dogs arriving from high-risk countries have not changed, and these dogs are still required to have additional documents. Yesterday was a day to reflect on the work we are able to do here. We were able to complete 35 surgeries free of charge to animals in need, with help from a generous woman named Rita. Rita donated money in memory of her dog Rex to help us provide spay/neuter procedures to these pets. But Rita didn't stop there! She also generously donated microchips to give peace of mind to their owners if they were to ever get lost. Thank you Rita! Thank you for helping us make a difference in our community. Thank you to the wonderful medical team we have, we couldn't have done this without you all.
