Windsor/Essex County Humane Society Veterinary Clinic

Windsor/Essex County Humane Society Veterinary Clinic The WECHS Vet Clinic is a high-volume clinic focused on spaying/neutering cats. Please click "about" for more information and prices!

The clinic is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You must have an appointment, we do not accept walk-ins. To make an appointment, please visit our website https://windsorhumane.org/book-an-appointment. * There is a temporary hold on publicly booked dog surgeries to allow us to focus on and increase the availability of cat surgeries. The clinic was built to address a crisis of cat overpopulation and the H

S team is using their resources to focus on that.* In order to keep our prices low we ask that you book your appointments online yourselves, and view our information on our website regarding our prices and services offered. The staff are busy with high volume surgeries during the day, so phone calls cannot be answered and voicemails may take days to be returned. ( you can find immediate answers to your questions on our website)
Female cat spay - $50
Male cat neuter - $50
Please note that while we love hearing feedback about our services, the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (the governing organization for all vet clinics in Ontario) forbids veterinary clinics from posting client testimonials. If you find your comment has been deleted from this page, understand that we are only complying with the CVO.

Feral walk ins for tomorrow: Please ensure you have printed and filled out the new form we provided for tomorrow. Old forms will not be accepted and you will be given a new form to fill out. Bring the entire consent form. Please don't keep the discharge instructions- we fill out medical information on that page for you.

Please reference our previous post for the NOVEMBER 5th form to use.

Good luck trapping, and thank you to our community members who spend their evening trapping and caring for our community cats.

As always, cats must be 3lbs and arrive in a live humane trap. One cat per trap, we cannot transfer the cats for you. Cover your trap with a towel/blanket/cover to provide comfort to your cat. Please have your cover labelled ( we prefer the label on the cover not on the trap itself) with your last name and the cats name.

While we celebrate RVT month and show appreciation to our veterinary team this week, yesterday was National Feral Cat Day. What better way than for our team to give back to the community by completing 105 surgeries in one day! 105 community cats were spayed/neutered and were vaccinated for both FVRCP and Rabies, flea treated, and microchipped.

Another Registered Veterinary Technician to showcase! Carmen is an RVT here at the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. When we asked Carmen why she does what she does, this is what she had to say:
" I think that every animal needs someone to speak for it, even those that are not normally considered cute". We agree Carmen! Every animal no matter the type, age or their looks deserve to have someone advocating for them. Thank you for everything you do, we value you and look forward to spending many more years with you.

Celebrating Emily, a Veterinary Technician here at Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. This is what Emily shared with us when asked why she chose this profession:
"I grew up surrounded by animals 24/7, I decided to go to College to be a veterinary technician right out of high school. I aways knew I wanted to be apart of animal care since I was a kid. I fell in love with being a Veterinary Technician because I get to help our patients live happier and healthier lives. I love the fast paced environment we have here at the clinic and I wouldn't have it any other way. I really enjoy working with this AMAZING team and help change the lives of the community cats around Windsor Essex".
We are happy to have such dedicated professionals on our team. Thank you Emily, for everything you do!

Highlighting another RVT here at the Windsor Essex County Humane Society. Elliot!
We asked Elliot why she became an RVT and what she enjoys most about working here. This is what she had to say- " I became an RVT because I have always had a passion for animals ever since I was little. I was always the one finding animals and picking them up and have always wanted to help any animal I see. No matter if they are furry, scaley, feathery, or slimy. I enjoy working at the clinic because I get to help a large amount of cats and dogs every single day! I go home feeling accomplished by the work we have done and I'm truly proud to say I had a part in improving all of these animals' lives".
Thank you Elliot for your compassion and dedication. We appreciate everything you do.
