Aecon comapany is being really difficult for us in these past 2 days. Thay have blocked our entrance from Tecumseh road from east or west. They say the road is closed without any consideration for our 3 business here. They have no sign for local traffic only, and they told me that they dont care and people can access us thorough another private property but not of the city property. City of Windsor - Municipal Government approved this without any notice to the businesses or consideration for our loss of income which is just time for Christmas.
WE ARE OPEN IGNORE THE ROAD CLOSURE SIGNS AND COME THEOUGH THE STREET IT IS NOT CLOSED !!!

FISH OF THE DAY!

Clown Killifish:
(Epiplatys annulatus) or banded panchax, is a species of fish in the family Nothobranchiidae, an African rivuline, native to fresh water habitats in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone in West Africa.
A brief synopsis of this species of fish.

Synonyms Aplocheilus annulatus, Haplochilus annulatus, Panchax annulatus, Pseudepiplatys annulatus.

Maximum Size: 3cm
Temperature: 20-27Β°C 68-80 Β°F
Water Parameters : Soft, acidic water is essential.

pH: 4.5-6.5, dH: up to 8 degrees.
Lighting: Dim
Sexual Dimorphism: Male fish attain a larger size, are more colourful, and develop extended finnage.

Habitat:
These tiny panchax are known from coastal swamps and shallow, slow-moving waters of forest creeks and rivulets. These diminutive killifish are gregarious and are found in loose shoals living amongst the dense marginal vegetation. The home aquarium should be biologically mature with high standards of water quality maintained at all times. Clown killies are delicate fish and require very soft, acidic water with plenty of cover in the form of driftwood and plants.

*A shout-out to maidenhead aquatics for the information above.*
*FOTD is not enough information to keep any species of fish and more research is needed.*

My Overview:
Is there a fish species more appealing to hobbyists who enjoy smaller fish? None come close. They slide into a community aquariums alongside peaceful small fish wonderfully.

However, it's essential to note that all killifish are known for their jumping abilities. Even small gaps around filters and heaters pose a risk, so caution is advised.

Clown killifish, though not prone to schooling, typically prefer spreading out rather than clustering together. Despite this behavior, keeping multiple clown killifish is recommended.

The range of peaceful fish compatible with this species is vast. A densely planted tank with ample hiding spots sets the perfect stage. I always strive to recreate natural habitats for all my fish.

Furthermore, they occasionally breed in the aquarium, with fry emerging from the plantsβ€”a delightful surprise for any enthusiast.
A stunning πŸ’• species of fish!
