Just a reminder, if you are an early morning or late night walker a park user has let us know that coyotes have been spotted at the park. BE AWARE and know what to do. Coyotes are naturally timid and flee when confronted aggressively. The following actions teach coyotes to fear humans. Be BIG💥Be LOUD💥Be THREATENING💥 Avoid turning your back, maintain eye contact & slowly back away. Never run away from a Coyote.

Casting call

I am looking for 3 corgis from the same family or 3 dogs that are familiar with each other for a big feature film!

Dogs must be comfortable with people petting them and busy environments. Looking for dogs that can sit stay on a seat in a vehicle together beside an actor.
Film date unknown at this time but somewhere between August and September.

Open to other similar type dogs if in 3, like Frenchies. Small dogs only.

Reminder that the Charleswood dog park is closed for off leash dogs for the 150 celebration. Dogs on leash are allowed. Westdale community club is a temporary off leash area for today and tomorrow. If you do decide to go please note one of the rinks has a section of boards missing near the kids playground and if you are shorter like this pups mom you may have a harder time reaching the gate latch from inside the rink But this senior girl loved having a quiet place to saunter.

Great news🎉 On June 15 and 16 we have permission for the use of the outdoor rinks at Westdale Community Centre as temporary official off-leash areas!! 😍 Thanks so much to their Community Centre board for allowing us in and providing us a temporary safe space to use, while the Manitoba150 party and next day clean-up take place. Here are pics showing the rinks and how to find them. PLEASE KEEP DOGS ON LEASH WHEN OUTSIDE OF THE RINK AND REMEMBER YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO KEEP IT CLEAN!! Let's be good neighbours, and on our best behaviour while we are at their location. Thanks again to everyone who got this back-up plan sorted out at the last minute! Rink rules for off-leash are the same as the park, here is a refresher in case you need it.
🐶 Rules of use for Off-Leash Dog Areas 🐶
(Responsible Pet Ownership By-law 92/2013)
Dog owners must be present and within view of their dogs at all times.
Aggressive dogs are not allowed in off-leash areas.
Dogs must be under voice control while off-leash.
Dog owners must have a leash in hand at all times.
Female dogs in heat are not allowed in off-leash areas.
Holes dug by dogs must be filled by the dog owner.
All f***s must be picked up by the dog owner and removed or deposited in waste receptacles.
All dogs must be licensed in accordance with the City of Winnipeg Responsible Pet Ownership By-law 92/2013. Please contact 311 for more information.
All sites are open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. or as posted at the site.
