Rescue Siamese

A not-for-profit, no-kill animal rescue for Siamese crossed cats in Manitoba. Rescue Siamese is a "no kill" rescue. Friday: 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Rescue is a non-profit, feline rescue that operates as a shelter with a strong foster program component, whereby animals are taken into foster homes, vetted and assessed for temperament and later put up for adoption at our shelter. Siamese crossed cats are accepted directly from owners, as strays or as transfers from another shelter or organization. Rescue Siamese is set up to give preference to t

he Siamese and Oriental breeds, and will also take in the domestic partners of "bonded" pairs. Oriental breeds may include Oriental Short Hair, Himalayan, Exotic Short Hair, Snowshoe, Birman, Balinese -most cats that have blue eyes and colour points. Hours of Operation:

We were contacted to take this sweet boy when he suddenly appeared on a kind family’s property outside of the city. George can be a little shy when he first meets you, but that quickly disappears, and he is ready for affection. He loves to be petted and will rub up against you for more.

He gets along well with other cats and kids. He would do well in most homes.

Rupert came to us this past winter as a stray from outside of the city. He is shy at first but loves the volunteers at the shelter. He loves food and is very food motivated. He is learning to get used to the other cats at the shelter but can be a little bit of a bully at times.

He has not met dogs or kids yet but a quieter home would be best suited for Rupert.

As most of you know, Betty White was a devoted animal advocate. To honour her love for animals, please consider making a $5 or more donation to Rescue Siamese, between now and her birthday on January 17th, in honour of this phenomenal woman. ❤️❤️❤️

Unfortunately, this year has already started with expensive vet bills. This includes needing to pay down the holiday emergencies, numerous alterations, vaccinations, dentals, and more.

Currently we have over 70 cats in care and receive numerous emails and calls a day take in more. Every donation helps and no donation is too small. All donations will be used to help the cats in care. Without our amazing supporters, we would not have been able to stay open since 1996 and helped thousands of cats.

Lionel came into our care when he was found alone and outside. Lionel is a curious, busy boy who loves to play! His favourite toys are springs or plush mice, which he will carry to the basement or the couch. He does not like to be picked up or sit on laps, but he does like to be in the same room with his fosters and will often sit next to them for pets. He is a purring machine and can be heard from a distance.

He has not been in a home around children or other pets. He can be scared of loud noises and sudden movements.

We were contacted to take Milo when he was found scared and dirty in a garage. When Milo came into care, it was discovered that he had an open wound on his leg. Luckily it was minor and treated with antibiotics. Milo had been vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is now ready to find his forever home.

Milo is progressing daily in his foster home but he still scares easily and will retreat to under the couch which he considers his safe space. He gets along well with the 2 cats in his foster home. He is passive with them and wants to be their friend. Milo likes to be near his foster mom and will often jump in the bed for pets.

Milo loves toys of all kinds and can easily entertain himself for hours. He is curious like a typical kitten and is growing braver and more confident every day. He is a sweet and lovable boy.

Milo has not met kids or dogs yet. He would do best in a quieter home that will be patient with him while he adjusts to his new environment. He would do well in a home with another cat.

At the time we thought they may have all been littermates, but it was determined by the vet that they are all different ages.

Yoshi loves toys! He is always playing with or carrying a toy throughout his foster home. He is shy at first and unsure of pets, but once he warms up, he will be purring and asking for more. He is great with other cats and gets along well with dogs. He has not met kids yet. Yoshi would do well in a home with another cat or a dog as a companion.

Peach is a friendly and sociable girl who will be the first to greet you when you walk through the door. She loves to get pets from people and sometimes she will even let you run her belly. Peach has a sweet, playful, and curious personality. She was often found playing with or cuddling up to her “brothers”. She was in a foster home with dogs and cats and did great with both. She would do well in a home with another cat or a dog as a companion. She has not met children yet.

We are beginning “Feature Friday” and every Friday will feature photos or a video of an adoptable cat or cat in foster care.

Today we are featuring Adoptable Max!

Max is an approximately one and a half year old Seal Point Siamese Cross. He came to us from Thompson last summer. Max is a sweet boy who can be a little shy at first. He is okay with some of the cats at the shelter but does have a more dominating personality with other cats. Max loves to lounge on the bench, nap in the cat tree, and play with the teaser stick. He is a treasure to have at the shelter and adored by the volunteers but we are hoping he finds his forever home soon. Could you be Max’s person?

Happy Tails Julius & Jasper (previously Slate & Steel)!

Jasper & Julius were adopted together in December 2024 when their foster decided that they had found their forever home and officially foster failed. The resident cats quickly adopted these sweet boys as their own. They spend their days cuddling, being groomed and playing with each other and the other cats in the home. The boys are loved and adored by their forever family.

Happy Tails Cleo (now Misty)!

Misty was adopted in early December and loves her new family. She is a curious and talkative girl who is doing wonderful in her forever home. The feather jump toys and laser pointer are her favourite toys. At night, she loves to cuddle in the bed and sleep next to her humans. She quickly became friends with her dog sibling and they love to play with one another. She considers the dog food another toy to play with and loves to drink from his water dish. Misty is treasured in her home.

Boq and his siblings came into our care when a kind and wonderful person contacted us after the litter of kittens was being sold in a Walmart parking lot and she couldn’t just leave them for anyone to take. There were originally 8 kittens in the litter, but 2 were adopted by the family who saved them.

Boq is an affectionate and friendly boy who loves to groom his people. He is sweet, patient and enjoys snuggles, cuddles and pets. He loves to spend time napping or sitting in the cat tree.

He is in a home with children but has not met dogs yet.
