Max came to us from Thompson at the beginning of the summer. Max is a sweet boy, but he can be very shy at first. Once he is more confident and comfortable, he enjoys napping in the sun and playing with teaser sticks. He is cautious around the other cats still, and slowly becoming friends with some of the cats at the shelter. He will give a hiss if they get too close and do not respect his space.

With the proper introduction, he should do well with another cat or cat savvy dog in the home. He has met a small dog and didn’t seem to have any problems. He has not met children yet. Are you Max’s forever home?

Portia came to us from just outside of the city, at the beginning of Spring in rough shape. She was very dehydrated, underweight, not eating much, and was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. She was given fluids, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and spayed when she fully recovered. This beautiful girl is now ready for adoption and looking for her forever home. She will require a dental (this will be covered by the rescue at our vet as part of her adoption fee).

Though she can be shy at first, Portia is a very sweet girl who will make a great companion. She is very specific about her food. She gets along ok with calm mild-mannered cats who give her space. She has not met kids yet but does not like loud noises. She has met dogs before and did not have a good reaction. She would not do well in a home with dogs or young kids. A quieter home would be best fitted for this blue eyes beauty.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our 30-Day “Drive to $15 000!” The final tally for donations is $11 760, which is 78% of the goal we hoped to reach. Even though we didn’t hit our goal amount, this is such a great showing of support and we are very grateful ❤️

We still really need to make up that difference, and to be able to count on consistent donations in order to pay off and keep up with our vet bills as well as purchase supplies for cats in care like Popcorn, pictured here. In addition to our rotating list of cats available for adoption through our rescue, we have many forever fosters! These cats have special health or social needs that require ongoing attention, which otherwise might make finding a forever home for them difficult or impossible. Forever fosters live at home with their placement families but remain under the responsibility of our rescue in terms of veterinary care, and we provide supplies such as food/special diets, medications, litter and anything else they might need.

Today’s featured forever foster cat is Yoshi, who has been living with his family for about 10 years now. Yoshi had spent some time in the shelter before being placed with his forever foster, he was quite stressed out by other cats and was having difficulty with socialization as a result - he needed a break! Luckily he was much more comfortable and social once he was able to have his own space. Yoshi suffers from chronic Cystitis/bladder and urinary tract issues, so he needs to eat special prescription food only for the rest of his life. Unfortunately he had a health scare last week, where he spent some time at the vet following a pancreatic attack. He’s back home and on the mend now ❤️

. It has now been 30 days on our drive to 15,000 we are 76 percent of the way to our goal.. We would love to reach the top of the thermometer, or get as close to the top as we can.
Pictured on the top right is Snickerdoodle a young kitten that has had a few vet trips but is now on the road to recovery relaxing and comfy in the foster home because of the supporters we have. Bottom right is Tashe , Tashe is brand new to care and we are just learning about him, he will need to go in for his health checks so he can get ready for adoption.. Stay posted for updates on both these kitties. We have had many different vetting emergencies and care for many cats with special diets.

We are still catching up from our shelter building being closed to the public for unplanned repairs this past spring.

Our Fall BBQ is just over 2 weeks away!! We have lots planned & this will be a fun time and a great way to support Rescue Siamese at the same time.

We have packages started for the Silent Auction but still need many items to finish off the baskets if anyone has new items to donate. Some items are listed but we appreciate all donations and can use all new items in packages.

Please email [email protected] if you have questions or would like donations picked up (within the city). Please have all donations to the shelter by Monday September 23rd to ensure it is used at the fall event (anything received after, will be used for a future auction).
We are also in need of baking for this event. Baking can be dropped off anytime during open hours and placed in the freezer.

Pictured here are 4 kittens who have all come into care recently and will benefit from the event and donations. 2 of the kittens just came in last night and are off to the vet this afternoon for a vet check.

Adoptables Nina & Jasper are still waiting for their forever home. This bonded pair came into care when their owner was unfortunately going to work overseas and unable to take them.

Nina is easily startled and shy at first, and it will take her time to warm up to new people & surroundings. Jasper is more confident and loves pets. Once they are comfortable, they love people and attention. A quiet home with no other pets is best suited for this duo.

Cat lovers really showed up for this event, it was packed all day long. We are so grateful that we were able to be a part of it. ❤️ Thank you to the awesome organizers and all who came out!
