Important Announcement!

We have some upcoming dates when we will be away from the Salon:

- August 17th: We will be away, but we will resume our regular grooming hours on August 18th.
- August 23rd at 1pm to August 25th: We will be away, but we will resume our regular grooming hours on August 26th.
- We will also be away on August 30th and 31st, but we will resume our regular grooming hours on September 2nn after the long weekend.

Our weekend appointments are filling up quickly, so to reserve a weekend grooming appointment, you can either text 431-887-3036 or call Sprockett's East at 204-233-7337.

Meet the Groomer

Hello my name is Lucille, and I am the groomer for ! Grooming is more than just a job for me – it's my lifelong passion. I've been interested in becoming a groomer since the age of six, when I was captivated by my grandmother grooming her toy poodle. My grooming journey officially kicked off at 15 when I started as a bather. Since then, I have honed my craft through apprenticeships, grooming academies, and countless seminars and workshops.

With an impressive 19 years in the industry, I have worked my way up from being a bather to where I am now, on the cusp of achieving my master groomer certification. I take immense pride in grooming all breeds of dogs, regardless of size, and have recently expanded my expertise to include cat and small animal grooming.

These two pups were shaved for medical purposes but it is important to understand that shaving double-coated dogs such as golden retrievers, German shepherds, and Siberian huskies is not recommended, except for medical reasons such as skin disease or extreme matting. Shaving these breeds can lead to severe skin problems and may prevent the coat from growing back properly. Double-coated dogs have muscles in their skin that help with heat dissipation, and removing their outer coat can disrupt this natural process, potentially making the dog hotter. Therefore, it's best to avoid shaving double-coated breeds unless necessary for medical purposes.

I absolutely adore witnessing the growth and development of the pets in my care! Take a look at Ricos' grooming transformation from 6 months old to 14 months old. It has been an absolute pleasure grooming him over the past year, and I am looking forward to many more spa day visits with this sweet boy!

It breaks my heart to see dogs 68 to be exact in this horrible condition 💔
Yesterday they were rescued by Winnipeg Animal Services and Winnipeg Humane Society
Today groomers from various grooming salons answered the shelters requests for assistance to help get theses pups fresh and clean and ready for a new leash on life !
I'm so greatful to be able to assist them and show these babies that they are very much loved
From left to right Cinderella Goofy and Balto
I got to help free these cuties from their dirty matted coat completed the finishing touches on Cinderella and Goofy and another groomer finished Balto
This was a heart breaking situation 💔 but seeing everyone come together was very heart warming💕

Matted coat!
What is it?
Matting is a condition in your dog's fur that is caused by dense tangles and knots. It's a painful condition that can lead to other health concerns such as infections or skin irritations and can also mask other health issues or parasites.
How can you prevent matting?
Brushing your dog is the best way to prevent matting and exfoliate the skin. Using a moisture or detangling spray can help prevent static electricity, which contributes to matting. When brushing, remove your dog's collar and take a small section at a time, being sure to cover the entire body.
How can a groomer help?
If you see matting starting to develop, it's best to give your groomer a call to schedule either a bath and tidy or brush out to safely remove the matting .
