Moose the little black Pug has also found his forever home! He has two kids to play with and loves to go on adventures with his new family!

We have some great news to share!
Remember Queen (now Doreen) who arrived into our care with Bruno?
Doreen is the sweetest girl and she has found her forever family! She has a new pug sister named Edith and two cat friends that she is learning to live with. :D
Doreen loves cuddling with her new humans and going for walks and car rides.
We are so happy for that we found the perfect match for Doreen!

August 1st Heartworm Prevention Reminder!
We have some great news to share!
Bruno who came into our care a few weeks ago has found his forever home with his foster family!
This family was waiting for the next male Boston Terrier to come into our rescue's care but offered to foster Bruno for us to get him ready for adoption. It only took a few weeks and they fell in love with him.
Bruno bonded quickly with one of the family members and is doing amazing with the two female Boston Terriers (one senior girl and one very sassy girl).
Bruno goes for his neuter, nares and palate surgery on Monday morning.
We are so happy for Bruno and his new forever family! Congratulations Shelley and Ronnie!

We would like to introduce everyone to Moose!
Here is a bit about Moose shared from his current family:
Moose is an approximately 1 year old neutered male, black and white pug. He's a great dog. He is confident, likes kids, friendly and learning basic commands, but he's still a puppy and a bit boisterous/active while still learning manners. We did a private training class with him and the instructor said he was behaving how she'd expect for a puppy.
He's very food motivated and a fairly quick learner, but we still rely on treats for most commands. He's a friendly dog who loves food/treats, attention, chewing his toys, going for walks, and running around the yard with the kids. He'd do well with someone or a family who likes taking him for walks and getting his puppy energy out! He likes to play with other pets, but they've always been smaller than him and he might be a bit much for them as he will likely bowl them over.
He would be fine with another dog if they matched on playfulness/activity level and friendliness. He is up to date on shots, has his heartworm meds, tattooed, microchipped, crate-trained, housetrained, and the only known health issue we've noticed is he might have a food allergy. He has been switched to a new food and it seems to have improved.

Today we welcome Bruno and Cream (name change coming soon) as fosters into the rescue.
They are coming to us from a community Northwest of Portage la Prairie.
These cuties are approximately 3.5 years old and are a mix of French Bulldog and Pug.
Bruno is a big boy and is likely between 30-35 lbs. Cream is much smaller but has more of a French Bulldog body type. She needs to put on some weight and that will happen with good food and vet care.
As you can see in the photos Bruno is in need of a good grooming. When we arrived at the foster home today we gave him a quick bath and brush out but he needs a professional bath and deshed.
We reached out to Nikki at The Neon Dragon to see if they could help Bruno get a fresh start on his new life.
Nikki replied immediately and has offered a free grooming for our new boy. ♡ He goes for his big spa day on Wednesday evening and we can't wait to see his new look.

Please Note: Bruno and Cream are not available for adoption yet. Both need to be spayed/neutered and Bruno very much needs his nares/palate done to help his breathing.

Before we go out and buy silent auction tickets for the 2024 Manitoba Pet Expo, we thought we should see if anyone is having a social or just had a social and they would like to donate their leftover silent auction ticket sheets.

Susan Rowe Dagg has two t-shirts made and available for immediate pick up.
The t-shirts are $30 each and 100% of the proceeds from these two shirts will go to the Boston Terrier & Pug Rescue of Southern Manitoba (BTPRSM). The shirts are embroidered and not heat transfer vinyl.
The Pug Mom is a size L in pink.
The Pug Dad is an XL in grey.
Susan can make additional shirts or hoodies with $5 from each shirt going to the rescue. She also has other designs available as well such as Rescue Mom/Dad or Dog Mom.
