It’s a place to breathe in the fresh air, feel the earth beneath their paws, and reconnect with what it means to be a dog. No city sounds, no bright lights—just the peace and freedom. 🌲🐾

Wally’s love for adventure and that wagging tail of his make him a true joy to be around!

Happy Halloween from Auggie the pumpkin pup! 🎃👻 Keeping things cute and safe this spooky season. Here are some Halloween safety tips for pets:

1. Keep treats out of reach – especially chocolate and anything with xylitol.
2. Mind the costumes – make sure they’re comfy and non-restrictive.
3. Watch the decorations – keep curious noses away from candles and small decorations.
4. Secure your space – with all the doorbell rings, make sure your pet can’t dash outside.

Hi, I’m Mikayla, I’m an outdoor enthusiast who thrives on camping, hiking, and anything that involves dogs. Growing up in a household with cats sparked my early obsession with dogs; I believed that the more I educated myself, the more likely my parents would allow me to have one. To scratch that dog-owner itch, I eagerly took on dog-sitting for family and friends, relishing every moment spent with their furry companions.

From a young age, I immersed myself in local dog events, collecting donations for rescues and advocating for animals in need. This passion only grew as I transitioned into post-graduation life, where I began house and pet sitting in my town. My journey took a significant turn when I landed a job at a dog daycare; that’s where my love for dogs truly flourished. I sought every opportunity to dive deeper into the industry, constantly learning and connecting with other dog lovers.

At 20, I welcomed my German Shepherd, Hunter, into my life. He has been my greatest teacher, challenging me to learn more about canine health and training. While he hasn’t been the easiest first dog, our journey together has shaped my understanding of dog behavior. Around his two-year mark, Hunter became reactive, presenting some of the toughest challenges I’ve faced as a dog owner.

This experience ignited my passion to create a sanctuary for people and their dogs. I understand how stressful it can be to find someone trustworthy to care for a behaviorally complex dog. I decided that I wanted to be that person for others—a caregiver who treats pets with patience, love, and respect, ensuring they feel safe and cared for while their owners are away.

I’m excited to share my journey, learn from others, and connect with fellow dog lovers who share this incredible passion!
