🐢 Just a reminder that you do not need to rescue any turtles in the park or on King’s Drive. 🐢 They live here and are not lost. 😃 Please respect them and their space, by leaving them alone.

A well meaning person found this turtle on a very busy roadway in Winnipeg. They were worried it would be hit and brought the turtle to one of our drop off centres.

Our staff did an exam and picked leeches off of their legs. The turtle was otherwise in perfect health.

Turtles learn their home territory and when removed and placed somewhere else can spend their entire life looking for “home”.

When you find a turtle on a roadway, please do not remove them from their path-unless they are injured. Simply help them cross in the direction they were travelling.

It is impossible for us to know exactly which body of water this turtle came from but our team did their best to pick one nearby.

Dog owners in Winnipeg! Our SOS- 68 Dog Spay/Neuter Project is going strong but we still have appointments waiting to be filled! I have 2 openings for Wed July 17 and 1 for Fri July 19 and then more after that! Dogs must be 6 months to 6 years. $45 dog neuter for those who qualify, just answer a couple questions over the phone, send in some basic info via email, prepay and voila, you get your dog fixed for a extremely subsidized rate! Do you travel to the U.S. with your pets?

‼️ 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦: 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧, 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 ‼️

Beginning 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝘀𝘁, the CDC is requiring all dogs entering or returning to the U.S. to meet a new set of requirements in order to be permitted entry into the country. These requirements are dependent on where the dog has been in the last 6 months prior to seeking entry/returning into the U.S., as well as where they received their rabies vaccinations.

All dogs seeking entry/returning must:
🇺🇸 Be at least 6 months old
🇺🇸 Have an ISO-compatible microchip
🇺🇸 Have a CDC Dog Import Form receipt
🇺🇸 Have one piece of additional documentation

While these new guidelines may seem confusing, we're here to help! If you have questions, consult the DogBot at www.cdc.gov/importation or give us a call.
