Comment below which is the lie after learning more about our RVT/PM Jade!

What is your favourite topic to educate clients on?

I’ve had/fostered diabetic cats in the past, so I love doing diabetic consults. Sometimes I can give tips/tricks that have worked well for me. I’m so glad that products such as Senvelgo (oral diabetic medicine) are finally being made available for those cats that just won’t allow an injection.

What is your favorite thing to do at work?

I love doing dental cleanings and dental x-rays. Seeing what the pet’s teeth looked like before and after is so satisfying and makes a huge difference for the pet.

Why did you decide to enter the field of Veterinary Medicine?

I’ve always had pets growing up (dogs, cats, rats) so getting to work with them every day was a no-brainer. However, I didn’t know that Vet Techs existed until I was 25. So, once I found out about the profession, I signed up for the program immediately.

How long have you worked at MAH?

I’ve been here for 14 1/2 years now. I was placed here on my final practicum from the RVT program, and they asked me to stay. So, I’ve been here and loving it ever since!

What is your favorite thing about working at MAH?

The team we have is amazing. The compassion and drive I see everyday in my coworkers is truly inspiring. It's also a blessing to have clients who understand the value of their pets' well-being. Then, together, we can work to keep their pets happy and healthy for as long as possible.

Tell us about your pets.

My husband and I have 3 cats. Frank is a 12 year old cream and white domestic short hair, Gus is a 3 year old black and white domestic long hair and his sister Gertie is a grey and white domestic long hair. They all love each other so much, it’s adorable.

What is your spirit animal?

I know I should say a cat (I’m a crazy cat lady)… BUT I think I’m more of a golden retriever. They’re pretty easy going, happy, like to have fun but also like to cuddle on the couch with you and fall asleep watching tv. Lol!

What is your favourite Halloween candy?
Candy corn or Skor bar.

What is your favorite Halloween movie?
Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus and Addams Family.

Don’t forget to guess the lie in the comments after learning about Kristina!

What is your favorite health topic to educate clients on?
I really enjoy educating clients on both canine and feline degenerative joint disease (arthritis). A big part of educating clients on DJD is also to educate them on the ways to supplement and support healthy joints, discussing different options (such as librela or cartrophen) educating clients on how we can utilize certain things such as pain management, administration of safe injections that provide pain relief, exercise, supplements, therapies whether it be hydro therapy or acupuncture, and what signs to watch for.

What is your favorite thing to do at work?
So far Anesthesia!! Even though it is a scary and nerve-wracking part of being a vet tech, I do enjoy it. I strive to provide a good balanced anesthesia with great pain management before, during, and post op.

Why did you decide to enter the field of Veterinary Medicine?
Ever since I was a young girl, I was drawn to animals and I found they were always drawn to me. I have such a big heart for animals, and I knew that one day I would want to work with them, be a voice for them, an advocate and to provide the utmost care for each one of them.

How long have you worked at MAH?
Almost 4 months. I started off doing my last practicum at Mcphillips before graduating from the Veterinary Technology program and I really grew to love the team over my 3 weeks.💗

What is your favorite thing about working at MAH?Lol, if I had to choose one, I would say getting to work alongside so many great team members who all support each other and work together to ensure that the best care is given for the patients and building trustworthy bonds with clients.

Tell us about your pets.
I have a total of 4 pets, two dogs and two cats. Sadie is a 4 year old Border Collie Mix. Maddie is a 14 year old Australian Shepherd Mix. Rosa is a 3 year old and Sweetpea is a 7 year old DSH.
