Huge part of dog training is training ourselves and being consistent. As soon as we stop being consistent there is a good chance the dog will resort to old behaviours. Consistency is hard.

It always amazes me how different dogs are. Dazzy for instance, big dog but little cat like nails. Also Dazzy is 100% ok having her nails done if not restrained and left to make her own decisions on leaving or staying. Once we figured out holding Dazzy is what was causing her stress getting her nails done she has been the best girl with getting them done.

This past Sunday we visited a client and we trim one of her dogs nails but the other had a traumatic experience and is petrified and the vet requires sedation for it to be done. We decided to go slow and give it a try to see what his reaction would be and well we got all his nails done with zero sedation. He was wiggly but he’s 100% food motivated so as long as the treats kept coming he was 100% good with it.

This is why we love what we do. Gus won’t need unnecessary sedation to get his nails done and his mom will have a lot less stress. ❤️

We have had a few clients ask to have Terir dogs paws trimmed. We decided to give it a go with our own crew. It is something we can now add to nails but please let us know when you book.

Client Toby has cerebellar hypoplasia (he is extremely wobbly) so we take our time doing his nails and he is honestly the best boy. Today he was all about cuddles after. His sister Roxy absolutely loved all the new dehydrated treats.

Fun fact: Toby was a foster of Laura’s when he was a kitten and that was only discovered this past year. ❤️

We raised $50 for Cupcakes Pommy & Friends Rescue and Rehabilitation this week. It was a quiet week due to an injury but so many great clients this week.
