My Story
My name is Victoria Cole and I am from the beautiful island of Barbados, located in the sunny Caribbean. I grew up on the island with my parents and older brother and pets have always been a part of our family. Growing up we had Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Love Birds, Cockatiels, Fish, Cats and of course Dogs. Truthfully, while I love all animals, I have a soft spot for dogs, especially rescue dogs. I guess adopting rescue dogs fills a special place in my heart. "Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever" - ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Karen Davison.
I left Barbados in 2013 to attend Sheridan College, Ontario to pursue my career in Animal Care & Grooming. Leaving home and my four dogs, Chloe, Katie, Ebbi and Megan-Flea was very difficult. However, this opportunity changed my life in many ways, both personally and professionally. I graduated from Sheridan College with honours in June 2014, moved to Woodstock, Ontario with James, my partner and best friend, in July 2014 and in September 2014 I joined the wonderful team at Harris Animal Hospital as Veterinary Assistant & Groomer. I gained invaluable experience while working with the dedicated team at Harris and truly enjoyed the friendships developed with my co-workers, clients and of course their fur babies. What an exciting and life changing year 2014 was, with no regrets.
​In January 2018 I had the exciting opportunity to open my own business, Tangled Tails Grooming Salon Inc. The process was enjoyable and overwhelming all at the same time and opening day on April 2nd 2018 was one of the happiest days of my life. This has been a dream come true and I feel extremely privileged to be able to follow my passion in animal care.
​Our family continues to grow, from adopting a kitten named Shadow shortly after joining Harris in 2014, to a bearded dragon named Walt in 2016, salt & fresh water fish and in 2018 a golden retriever named Ozzy. They have all brought such joy to our lives and truthfully I can't imagine our home without them.​​​​​​​​​​ With the dawning of 2020 bringing us a new year and a new decade, I would like to extend a heart felt thanks to all my clients, their fur babies, family and friends for their love and support. Our journey over the last almost 2 years has been nothing short of amazing and I am excited for the opportunities that this new decade has for all of us. Here's to the courage to emrbrace them!
