Wellington Animal Rescue provides emergency veterinary services to the county and area pound animals. When we care for these lost or abandoned animals, the healthy patients will return to the pound for adoption. Often the socialized but critically ill or injured animals are rescued by Wellington Animal Rescue where they receive medical care and are nursed back to health. With these rescues, a grea

t deal of time and veterinary care is donated by our veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. We provide the medical attention that is required whether it be surgical, intensive care, or rehabilitation. Our treatments and services are provided at cost to our rescues and many of our medications have been donated to help these animals. Our rescues will also be spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm/tick disease tested (dogs), feline AIDS and leukemia virus tested (cats) and vaccinated by our Doctors before going up for adoption. Because the cost of these treatments and diagnostics can be hundreds of dollars, we rely on generous donations from the public to assist in our rescue mission. Once the rescued animal is in good health we find them a safe and loving forever home! Our Adoption policy:
Our main goal at Wellington Animal Rescue is to rehabilitate sick or injured dogs and cats and to place them in their forever home. As such, we require potential adoptees to fill out an adoption application so we can find the best suited home to each pet’s individual needs. We also allow a trial period in your home to be sure that the animal is the right fit for you! If the animal is not the right fit, they can be returned to our rescue and the adoption fee will be returned to you. Our adoption fee is 200$ for cats and 250$ for dogs which will then be put towards helping the next rescue animal. Most of our rescues will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm/tick disease tested (dogs), feline aids and leukemia virus tested (cats), vaccinated, as well as any other medical/surgical care required. Fostering Animals:
Some of our rescues will greatly benefit from staying in a foster home so they can be better socialized and get used to a home environment. We require potential fosters to fill out an application for approval. The food and medications (if any) will be provided by the rescue. If you are interested in fostering rescue animals, please contact us. Please take a look at our wonderful animals currently up for adoption in the album section and also see our adoption success stories! If you need any information or would like to meet one of our pets up for adoptions, please contact Wellington Animal Rescue at 519-539-9722 to schedule a meet and greet appointment. To make a donation to the Wellington Animal Rescue Fund please contact us at 519-539-9722. Every donation helps in the plight for giving some hope to abandoned and often neglected animals in our community.

For Christmas this year, Juno is asking Santa for a family of her own.
The ideal family would be one with someone to snuggle with, someone who loves giving pets, and has lots of extra treats!
Juno is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and has had flea prevention.
Juno has been tested with older kids (9+) and she was as sweet as can be.
If you think you can give Juno the gift of a forever family, please call, email or come into Wellington Animal Hospital to fill out an application for Juno!

Juno is so sweet and affectionate!
We would love to see Juno get into her forever home where she is able to get all the pets and love she's begging for.
If you're interested in being Juno's forever home, please call 519-539-9722, email [email protected] or pop in to fill out an adoption application.

Juno is still waiting for her furever home!
What we know about Juno so far is that she loves people. She starting purring as soon as someone enters the room, and begs to be pet.
She says "No thank you!" to getting picked up.
She is also a big lover of food!
Juno has not been tested with children, cats or dogs at this time.
Juno has such a sweet character. If you're interested in Juno, please call or email us at Wellington Animal Hospital.

Odin's new year resolution is to find a family!!
Odin is a super snuggly approximately 10 year old male (neutered) kitty. He loves attention and purrs all the time. As much as he likes sharing Dr Dennis' office he would love to have his own home and family.
Odin came to us as a diabetic but is now in remission (meaning he no longer needs insulin). He is also unfortunately FIV positive, this is not likely to affect his life span but may make him higher risk for infections and means he should be the only cat in the house. He does not appreciate the company of a dog either.
Odin has recently had a full dental cleaning and some tooth extractions. Because of his health issues we recommend Odin continue on a canned diet to help keep his diabetes from reoccurring.
Please call the clinic or send us an email for more information on how to add Odin to your family

Charlie is so sad as he was brought back from his trial visit. He was apparently bullying the other cat in the house hold. This information leaves us to the decision that he needs to be the only cat in the house.
Charlie is a 6 year old, neutered, declawed boy who was surrendered to us a few months ago as he was having inappropriate urinations around his house. Since living at the clinic and his trial home he has not had any accidents.
Please help us find his furever home! This boy is so cuddly and just wants a loving home to call his own.
Please email us at [email protected] or give the clinic a call for more information as we can not regularly check our page

This is Sammy. He is a 9 year old neutered boy who is looking for someone to love him and give him lots of cuddles. Sammy’s elderly owner could no longer care for him and was surrendered to us. He is shy at first but will warm up quickly with lots of pets.

Summer is the season when immature blacklegged ticks
are very active! Did you know that even with a regular tick
checks, they can be very hard to see (as small as a poppy
seed)? That is why it is important to keep your pet
protected against ticks, even as the temperatures climb.
Contact your veterinary team for more information.

We'd love for you all to meet, Charlie!
Charlie is a six year old neutered sweetie pie who loves to cuddle and be with people. Charlie was surrendered to us due to urinating around the house. Since Charlie has been with us at the clinic (for over a month now) we have put him on a special stress/urinary food and he has not had one accident here. He has free roam of the feline room but would much rather prefer a home to call his own.
He has met and does not seem to mind dogs and at night stays with our clinic cats.
Please let us know by phone or email if you'd like more information on this boy.

We hope to get him into a home very soon
