Animal Control &Rescue Services

Animal Control &Rescue Services Animal Control and Rescue steps in where others don't. Cat problems, stray dogs, aggressive dogs, All my time and my money goes into the shelter.

ACCR came in existence through my role as Animal Control By-Law Officer. The pound was seen by many as a animal shelter, and as there were no local animals shelters the pound morphed into a shelter. Because some of the dogs that came my way suffered from behavioural problems I used my pack of dogs and my way of training to turn them around so that they were suitable for adoption. I have never come

across a 'bad' dog, but i have seen so many bad owners who's inability to understand the rudiments of dog training led to dogs becoming out of control. I live and work with the dogs so that they may find a better home and life. Two special people help with fundraising and we accept donations with open arms. We are a non profit animal shelter who work 24/7 helping dogs and cats find a better life. We rehabilitate dogs and try our best to furnish you with the dog that best suits your lifestyle. Feel free to call 306 560 9006 for more information anytime.

It's not often we come across a dog that would be perfectly suited for a farm or acreage. Oreo is a 2 yr old male Pointer Cross. Full of energy and friendly. He has been neutered vaccinated and microchipped.
Don't forget part of our adoption process is you can return the dog at any time during the first three months of adoption.

Two 5mth old GS cross. These two sweethearts came in due to a case of cruelty. One had their tail half chopped off and the other has a suspected broken leg, probably healed in a bad way. It's a fact that sickos who mistreat animals will more than likely go onto cause injury to humans. Judging by the amount of mistreated dogs that come into our shelter, one can only assume there is an awful lot of sad, sick, and twisted, people in Saskatchewan and there getting away with their crimes.

Bee asked us to re-advertise her as she wants a nice quiet home, a place where she can relax on a couch, away from the rambunctious, annoying teenage dogs here at ACCRS. If you want to whisk her away to her dream home call Andy at 306 560 9006 anytime.

Meet Oreo a two year old male Pointer Cross. He is friendly, good with dogs, but not cats. Which is why he is here. He is good with kids, kennel and house trained, knows the sit command. Would be good in a busy home with distractions or a working dog. If interested call ACCRS in Wynyard SK at 306 560 9006 and ask for Andy. A call is best as we are busy and sometimes we miss the odd message or text.

A tragedy is unfolding in our animal shelters. Every year, countless animals are euthanized—hidden away so society doesn’t have to confront the suffering. But for those of us on the frontlines, the heartbreak is relentless, and it’s real. What makes it worse is the lack of moral courage in a throwaway culture that turns its back on the most loyal companions humanity has ever known.

This is not about numbers. This is a moral emergency. “Out of sight, out of mind” can no longer be the excuse. It is time to demand change, to stop treating man’s best friend like disposable waste, and to honor the bond that has endured for millennia. Every animal deserves compassion, care, and a chance at life. Together, we can transform shelters from places of despair into sanctuaries of hope.

The truth is, most shelters are powered by volunteers—ordinary people who sacrifice their time, energy, and personal finances to provide care. We rely on donations and our own pockets because there is no provincial or federal support. And while we pride ourselves on being “civilized” in the West, the reality is sobering: compared to the very countries we dismiss as “third world,” we are falling behind.

For a nation with such a small population, it is both disappointing and shameful that our provincial and federal governments have failed to implement meaningful legislation to protect animals and support the shelters fighting every day to ease the suffering caused by human neglect. This is not just an issue of policy—it is a test of our humanity.
Our latest intake (pictured) was so tired she had to be carried into the shelter and slept solid for 26hrs.
