Going into the final weeks of 2024's season, I figured we would do a little "Meet our horses" fun where we will post about our lesson horses and a little detail about who they are and what they've done!

First up, of course... Smoke!

This sweet old man is the foundation of our program. He is the horse everybody starts on, and has given SO many kids their wings. He is a kind, easy going fellow who can take a joke and never gets upset about mistakes... though he WILL let you know when you're making them!

In his past career he was a very competitive and talented barrel racer who was very successful with his previous owner. When he was ready to retire from the show life 4 years ago we were able to buy him and bring him home.

Smoke is now 21 years old, he's now a barn favorite who loves his kiddos and works very hard not to work too hard. He is a registered Quarter Horse gelding, registered name "Smokey B Kay".

It's okay!

Let’s talk about mental health in the equestrian world. 🧠🌱🐴

Riding may be our passion, but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Stress, nerves, and self-doubt can creep in fairly easily, and that’s okay.

It’s okay to feel it, and it’s okay to ask for help. Just like we care for our horses, we need to care for our minds too. Let’s break the stigma, support each other, and make mental health a priority in our community.

Such a fun day at Mossy Meadows today! A big group got together for a trail ride on the tracks! So nice to have everyone together and for those who joined in from other barns, so glad you could make it!

We are living our best lives!

The aftermath of an engaging barn lesson on breaking down and reassembling English bridles!

Very good results with Hannah, Rowen and Brooklyn who were all able to get their bridles back together correctly 👏

We almost froze out there, but it was a great time and big thanks to Terra for bringing me coffee to help warm up afterwards 💕

Very happy to welcome Kallie's new mare, Mercedes to the barn! Congratulations to the d'Entremonts on their new addition!

Mercedes lived here as a younger horse and has now returned for boarding. Very excited to see Kallie and this gorgeous mare build a beautiful relationship 😍❤️

Welcome to November!

What a beautiful time of year for riding, though bittersweet as this is our last month of the 2024 lesson season before we close for the winter months. We look forward to this month's rides!

Everybody should have received their new ride times for November (daylight savings time is a bummer!)

Reminder that payment for November is now due for lessons, leasing and boarding fees.

Just a head’s up going into planning lessons for November, which is the last month for the 2024 lesson program! It’s been such a great season and I have enjoyed teaching each and every one of you and look forward to seeing you all when the lesson program opens again in April/May (weather dependent).

Because of the time change in November, some of the later sessions will need to be moved to either earlier slots through the week OR to weekend daytime slots. I will be reaching out to those who will be affected in the following weeks to nail down November’s schedule.

***Students who are leasing will have the option of continuing to lease throughout the winter months which is strongly encouraged where possible. It keeps the horses in work and helps us to support this program in our “down time”, as well as keeping students interacting with horses (which we all know they love!). Please reach out to let me know what you plan to do for the winter months and leasing if you currently have a lease. As always, students who carry leases will have first option of lesson slots/leases when the program reopens before any are offered to new or returning students.
