It's been quite some time since I've been on here or in the shop, but it's all for a good reason.
Malcolm and I welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world this spring, Miss Lila Jean O'Brien. She is by far the most beautiful work of art I have ever created.
Pregnancy took me out of the shop as I couldn't stand to be around the fumes of adhesives and dyes, and for the first trimester I was sick from the smell of leather. But we slowly hammered away at our few remaining orders and the night before I went into labor I delivered my last two sets of chaps to their owners.
This little girl is blessed to have 3 absolutely amazing, brilliant and beautiful big sisters that share our family's love of horses (she was on her pony by the time she was 36 hours old). I pray she grows up wild and free, to create beautiful things with her hands like her father and I both love to do. I pray she knows what she wants and goes after it like her sister Cassie, I pray she is known for her kindness and caring heart like her sister Sarah and I pray she always finds the time to be silly like her sister Beth. I pray she gets my wings and her daddy's roots.
We will create art for y'all again soon, I'm not sure when but we will. Until then I am going to enjoy watching my baby grow 🤍

We are excited to announce that we're welcoming the most amazing blessing and the wildest ride of our lives in May of 2024 🤍
If you're wondering why I've been MIA it's because we are preparing to welcome a little cow-kid into our lives...and this cow-kid doesn't like me working in the shop. Dyes and adhesives knock me out and top it all off with raging headaches, so I will be taking my time on what I have left and I will not be taking custom orders for a while.
Over the next year or so I will be focusing on the future of our ever growing family, which means leather will take a back seat. I still want to practice my craft on my own time and my own terms so make sure to follow along for some surprise drops along the way. But for right now, I'm just going to enjoy this.

Brand placement- originally we were going to tool the brand into the yokes but we landed on the inlaid brand on the bottom corner of the leg, a choice I can't wait to do again!

Good morning from San Angelo 🌵

I have been living my desert dreams this week and putting on the miles! It has been an absolute blessing to be down here in Texas and Oklahoma, the sights I have seen and the people I have met has really sparked a new kind of fire. I am looking forward to being in the shop again to get all my new ideas out on hide, but until then I am going to continue to soak up all the beautiful sights, good conversation and talented horses!

I want to call these the Roaming Home chinks. They feel very "Of The Land" to me with the type of hide, color combinations and tooling chosen. Between the wheat, the daisies, mountains and that special horse, I would say these chinks feel like home 🏔️

Good morning y'all!
I am on the highway and headed south for Texas and Oklahoma! I will be out of the shop until the end of August but I will be taking orders for the month of September.
I'm gonna say the "C" word...guys, we gotta think about Christmas. I will only be doing Christmas orders in September this year just so I can keep the stress levels down and enjoy time with my family and friends over the holidays.
Custom and Christmas orders will be first come, first served and deposits will be required to hold a spot on the list. Spots are limited so let's get on it!
All messages will be returned as soon as possible when I'm off the road!

Fun fact about me- I love Love.
So when I got a message from Erin asking if I could make her man something with his brand I said yes. But then a couple days later when I got a message from Bobby asking if I could put his brand on a pair of chinks for his gal, I said oh heck yeah! The best part- neither one of them knew about the other's order!
I am so happy with how this set turned out, and I'm so glad that this surprise worked out for everybody involved! Also, might I add, y'all have great taste 😉

The East Coast Rodeo Association kicked off their first rodeo of the season this Canada Day weekend! I had a blast announcing while catching up with the board, local customers and friends!

I appreciate the opportunity to sponsor such a great association. The ECRA is not only a place where one can throw a few loops or turn a few cans but it's a place where strangers become friends and friends become family. It's amazing to see how much this organization has grown and I truly believe it's because of the atmosphere this team has created.

Good luck to all those competing today, stay safe, have fun and learn lots! This rodeo season is going to be a good one!

Did you know it takes (on average) 9 minutes and 44 seconds to stitch just one 7 foot rein? I do now...I literally stitched for HOURS making all these reins!

As the first snow flies, I am reflecting on this past year. What a dream it's been 🤍
