Paws and Claws Animal Rescue has been rescuing animals since February 2015. Many of our rescues come in as strays from poor living conditions from places in the surrounding areas. We take the time to assess each animal both mentally and physically before putting them up for adoption. Once the animal has been rescued, we place them into a foster home that is the best fit for him/her. Without our fo
ster parents, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many animals as we do. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and dedication our fosters provide for our rescues! All animals are vet checked and are up to date with their shots and a complete exam to make sure they are healthy before being put up for Adoption. Let's find Maggie her forever.....
Maggie has now been in the rescue for 2 years. She has been in the rescue since she was a very small puppy. (Only 6-8 weeks old) Miss Maggie has spent the majority of her life in rescue. Although her foster momma loves her and takes amazing care of her. It is time for Maggie to find her happily ever after.
Maggie is a Shepherd Cross.
Her approximate birthday July 12, 2022.
Her vaccinations are current, she is spayed and microchipped.
Maggie has lots of energy and is on the go. Where you are she is attached right to your side. She is often a couch potatoes in the evening when you are watching TV, with a cat by her side. Maggie is fostered with other dogs, cats, kittens and is with horses and chickens. Maggie loves people but she is shy in new situations & new animals. With proper introductions she is completely fine. Because Maggie is unsure in new surroundings her bad habit is to nip, so you need to pay attention to her. (Once she feels confident in her surroundings she stops this)
She makes very strong bonds with her people and once Maggie knows you are her friend, she is very loyal and loving.

This is Fritter
Brother to Timbit. Son the Glaze.
He is about 9 weeks old, has his first set of vaccinations and has been dewormed.
This little fluffball is full of energy!
He definitely has that "Maine C**n" look, especially in his muzzle.
But we're fairly certain he won't have that Maine C**n size. His Mom is pretty tiny.
Fritter was born in the rescue with his brother.
He loves canned food and attacking things.

Introducing Navi
Navi is a Shepherd Cross.
She is about 3 months old, has her first set of vaccinations and has been dewormed. She is also microchipped.
Navi is a super sweet girl, so far she loves to be around people and will follow you around like a shadow. She loves playing and exploring the yard, but also loves to cuddle up for naps. She’s ignores the cat but loves the dog so we think she would do great with a friend or two!

Tiko loves everyone, he loves people, he loves dogs, and he loves cats.
Tiko is a typical playful, get into everything puppy.
He has a lot of energy so would do best in a family who would have the time to help him get rid of this energy. He loves to run and play.
He would also be a great adoption to a farm family.
He does walk okay on a leash but could use some training.
He is a complete sweetheart and is so excited to see everyone who comes to adoption days and will talk to you, so you come see him.

Meet Timbit
Timbit is almost 9 weeks old.
He has his first set of vaccinations and dewormed.
This little guy is sooo cute.
He’s pretty chill compared to his brother, but he’s still playful and fun.
He is busy learning how to be a cat from his Mama.

FUN FACT
The luxury ocean liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912. With more than 1500 people that perished in the disaster. There was three of twelve dogs on board the Titanic that survived.
The three dogs that survived had a few things in common:
They were being kept in staterooms (not in the kennel) and they were tiny. They were taken into lifeboats by their owners, most likely wrapped in blankets or tucked under a coat.
First-class passengers often traveled with their pets. The Titanic was equipped with a first-rate kennel and the dogs were well-cared for, including daily exercise on deck.
The three dogs that survived:
• Lady: a Pomeranian - Owners: Margaret Bechstein Hays. Margaret took Lady, wrapped in a blanket, aboard Lifeboat 7.
• Sun Yat Sen: a Pekingese - Owners: Myra and Henry S. Harper. The couple and their dog were on Lifeboat 3. According to J. Joseph Edgette, a historian at Widener University and curator of a museum exhibit about the Titanic, Mr. Harper said, “There seemed to be lots of room, and nobody made any objection.”
• Another Pomeranian- Owners: Martin and Elizabeth Jane Rothschild. Mrs. Rothschild hid the dog until the following morning when those on Lifeboat 6 were rescued by the RMS Carpathia. The crew initially refused to take the dog on board, but Mrs. Rothschild insisted. Mr. Rothschild didn’t survive the shipwreck.

Let me reintroduce Mr.Gus
Gus is about 3 years old and a husky cross.
He is completely vetted, microchipped and neutered.
He is simply just a very beautiful (handsome) dog. Pictures just don’t do this pup justice at all.
He is a very very nice looking dog.
He isn't super big, a nice medium size.
Again pictures make him look alot bigger than he actually is.
As for his temperament and personality.
Not only is he a very good looking dog.
He has THE BEST personality too.
He's very friendly, he LOVES people.
He's a bit of a jumper....but, with that said.
He jumps up so gentle, that you aren't even sure he is actually going to make contact with you. So gentle in fact, I doubt he would knock over a small child even if he did jump up on them.
He's extremely playful and affectionate.
He's good with other dog's once he is properly introduced and knows them.
He is good with cats and does well in a kennel.
Gus walks good on a leash and would be a great sleigh puller.

This is Morgan
Morgan has been vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.
Morgan we think will be a medium sized dog when fully grown. He is currently about 5 months old.
He is house trained and leash trained.
Very friendly and playful and he loves to be outside.
He is fostered with other dogs and does well.
Morgan is a good boy and he adores humans.
He really hates the camera though and everytime you try to get a good picture of just how cute he is.
He doesn't sit still or looks in a million different directions..haha

Mercedes (F) & Chevy (M) are siblings.
They are about 9 weeks old.
Lexus (F) is about 10 weeks old.
All of them have their 1st set of vaccinations and have been dewormed.
They were a little shy their first adoption days but they are all so cute and easily handled.

She loves to play and loves to eat, she will never say no to a treat.
Belly rubs and playing non stop with other dogs are her favorite things. She is good with other dogs with proper introduction. She is a puppy so still has lots and lots of energy.
She is good with kids.
She is mostly house trained and will only have accidents if she doesn’t get let out when she needs to go.
She knows hand signals for ‘sit’ and walks best when wearing her harness.

Kiyo is eager to please, especially for treats. He is a very smart pup.
He would thrive in a spacious area like an acreage or farm, but would also make a good indoor companion with a family who can provide him with the necessary attention and exercise, as he has picked up on commands quite quickly.
Kiyo is truly a wonderful dog that will win your heart!

She is a gentle & petite girl with a huge personality. Just like all typical Cailco kitties.

Meet Baby Girl
She is a chinese pug, and although she is a small framed dog, at almost 18lbs she has a little extra cushion on her.
She is about 9 years old, is up to date with her vaccinations until July 2025 & spayed.
She is a loyal pup and makes strong bonds with her people quickly. She is a lover, she loves people.
She loves to play fetch and go on walks.
She walks well on a leash.
She will cuddle up beside you on the chair and chill watch a movie.
She is p*e pad and kennel trained.
She gets along well with other dogs and cats after she gets used to them.
At first she wants to show her dominance because she isn't a young pup.
She is still so very full of energy.
She is good with people of all ages, great with kids and has experience around walkers and wheelchairs.

This is Mr. Silver
Silver is about 3 years old, he is up to date with his vaccinations and microchipped.
Silver has been in the rescue for almost a year and a half now. He is a shy boy and will take time to adjust to new surroundings. He doesn't bite or swat but he needs time to get used to new surroundings and people. Once he does he's a cuddler and loves attention.
He also has a “comfort tic” where he gets a little frisky with blankets or even sometimes other cats but he is fixed so there are no concerns. It seems to be more of a comfort thing for him like a child that sucks their thumb or on a blanket.
He gets along with other cats, not sure how he would be with dogs.
He likes to be pet and will give you head butts to get attention and food.

Tody is a mid size Shepherd X.

Toby has been in the rescue for just over 4 months now.
He is a sweet cuddly boy.
He loves to play with all the dogs and just wants to be everyone’s friend.
He likes to play but also likes to chill out by himself and chew a bone.
He loves to be outside, but also likes to snuggle inside at your feet too.
He loves his humans and giving kisses.
He is good with kids, and has all kinds of energy to play.
At adoption days he wants to be friends with the cats, but he hasnt actually been introduced to any cats.
He is kennel trained and has never cried in the kennel.

At last My love has come along My lonely days are over And life is like a song...... This is Etta. She is roughly 3-3.5 months old. Best guess would be terrier cross. (Not sure which one specifically) She will probably stay on the small/medium side when fully grown. She has her first set of vaccinations, is microchipped and has been dewormed. Etta is kennelled at night and during the day when no one is home. She is currently working on housetraining. Etta is good with other dogs, she tries to initiate play with them but then always runs away like she is scared lol. She is very much a people pup! She loves cuddles and just chilling with her human but also has an energetic side where she loves to run and play with her foster sister! She has been around cats and likes to try to play with them. Introducing little Miss Eve She is about 12 weeks old, has her first set of vaccinations, dewormed & treated for ear mites. Eve was found outside all by herself at about 8 weeks old. She was extremely cautious of her foster people and cat, but over the last couple weeks she has slowly learned to trust. She is fostered with two large dogs, but she still won’t go into the same room as them. Although she is timid, she has never hissed or swatted or bit, she just cowers and hides when scared. I’m sure with time she will be great with all animals and people, she just needs to get comfortable first in her new surroundings and realize she is safe now. She loves to play independently with her tiny mouse toys, and sit in the window sill bird watching. She has made no attempt to go outside or even near the door, I think she’s figured out that inside is the place to be. She is a very quiet little girl that will come to you when she wants attention.
