Founded in August 2014, Home for Angels-Haikou Homeless Pet Sanctuary, formerly Pet Rescue Sanctuary (PRS), is a four animal-advocate based group that contributes to cover the basic monthly overhead expenses of the facility: rental, utilities, kennel technician salary, and dog food for up to 30 dogs. We relocated near the airport in February 2016 (50 minutes drive from the city). The sanctuary loc
ation is not disclosed to the public to avert people from dropping animals at our gate but of course prospect adopters and pet care volunteers are welcome. Sign an adoption agreement that you will care, love, exercise, and provide vetting to give the pet a healthy and happy life.
2. No adoption fee but we require a deposit of 200 rbm to be refunded to you if you return the pet to us for any reason, no question asked.
4. Agree to return the pet to us if you can’t keep it for any reason. VETTING PROVIDED BY THE GROUP: annual booster and rabies vaccination, monthly Frontline flea/tick preventative, and Drontol worming every 3 months. We spay/neuter and provide vetting and medicine as needed. All vetting and operational expenses are not included in our monthly budget consequently any extra needed funds are raised from among this group founders, friends and community. We have a few sponsors who donate monthly and we receive donations from time to time which are allocated to vetting. In February 2016 we started boarding pets. This income is allocated to vetting. CURRENT MISSION: To rescue and rehome homeless pets in Haikou. GOALS:
1) to organize adoptions, fundraiser events, Responsible Pet Ownership workshops, campaigns for low cost vaccination, spay/neuter, etc.
2) to set up drop off boxes at businesses for our community to donate dog/cat treats, etc.
3) to establish a citywide network of small rescue groups to a) pickup homeless dogs/cats b) take them to the vet for a wellness checkup, vaccination, and spay/neuter and c) rehome them. WeChat Contacts:
