We are thrilled to share some amazing news with you! Thanks to your incredible support, we were able to purchase three new containers to house the dogs at our shelter. 🙌 These containers are now fully installed and ready to provide much-needed comfort and safety for our furry friends. 🏠❤️

This wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our supporters who donated and shared our cause. To show our gratitude and transparency, we’re sharing pictures of the containers in place as well as the receipts for their purchase. 📸🧾

Friends, this morning I read with great disappointment the messages posted by Breaking The Chains. I am disappointed not because the relationship was terminated, rather I am disappointed because their message is intended to cause harm to our shelter and our dogs. The truth is I decided to terminate this relationship more than one month ago after many lies and broken promises from BTC and Tom. When he came to the shelter in early summer, he promised he would return in 2 or 3 weeks. He never did. He promised to send one of his workers to start the project. He never did. They made so many promises that never were fulfilled. The phase 1 of the project was supposed to have been completed by Tom and his crew before winter so we can protect our dogs. No one from BTC ever returned since early summer. I was left alone to find solutions to protect our dogs. You have seen me bringing those large containers to house the dogs because Tom and BTC failed to deliver on any of their promises. We knew something was wrong when Sulala, the shelter in Gaza kicked him out. We tried to turn a blind eye to all the claims from shelters in Ukraine that he left them on their own like he did with us. We hoped against hope that all the accusations that Tom is an abuser were not true and that he was a good man and BTC a good organization. But it seems that our fears were true. Like others they hide behind a shield of having a non-profit status to prey on the weak. We have kept silent about not wanting to continue with this relationship because we were hoping to get from them the funds you have donated to them so we can buy more containers to shelter the dogs. In fact we received 29800 euros of the 56k euros they raised off our shelters. Maybe more. And despite many assurances in the last week that the funds are coming, they post despicable messages about our shelter only intended to hurt us. They have held us hostage for months. I only wish I took the messages from the shelters in Gaza and Ukraine that BTC deserted more seriously. I only wish I listened to friends who vetted this group and warned me about them more seriously. Continued in comments—

OCTOBER MONTHLY REPORT

Vucjak Shelter relies on steady Monthly donations to provide food and shelter to over 1600+ abandoned and abused animals in , Serbia.

🔅Currently, we have 2,373 people who give every Month
🔅Total for October 2024 
= $25,635 USD
🔅This is the funding we can count on every month.

🔷️Unfortunately, we need double that amount just for food.
🔅50-55 bags x $36 =  $1900 × 30 days
= $57,000 a month

This is why Dejan is forced to plea for food every day! This does not include Vet fees, workers' pay, medicine and special foods for sick and old dogs, and so much more.

It wasn't always like this!
In 2021, before criminals, with the support of the government, attacked our shelter, we had €37,000 in Monthly funding. But because of false allegations, which were all thrown out in court, we still lost many of our supporters.

Vucjak Project Update

We wanted to take a moment to update you and express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions and thank you for your trust and patience as we work through the preparations of the Vucjak Project.

PHASE 1 Stage 1:
*bulldozer to level land
*fencing & gates
*concrete pads
*crane to move trailers onto concrete pads

REALITY:
Once the funds were raised in August, for the first phase, we started calling the subcontractors and realized that there is a shortage of tradespeople in Serbia. Many were tied up all summer on large contracts and refused to take on small jobs.. Unfortunately, we were unable to coordinate these subcontractors.

SOLUTION:
While we continue to source this job, Dejan found a solution to keep the dogs warm and cozy this winter.

{3} Large trailers x€4200 = €12,600
{3} Wood stoves x €300 = €900
(4} Smaller homes x €400 = €1,600

**The suppliers have been PAID out of the Vucjak Project bank account
**Delivery and instalation between 10-25 days.
**These costs were already slated in the budget for the first phase of the Vucjak Project.

SUMMARY
We are all disappointed the
progress has taken an unexpected twist, but we can only do what we can with the resources we have. Rest assured that we are moving forward and are determined to get this job done.

🐾Give a Fighting Chance to Dogs in Need!🐾

Some of our furry friends are in need of veterinary care, and we need to give them the treatment they deserve.

Some of our critical rescues are still in the hospital, some are in confinement but require travelling to the vet for checkups. We have puppies requiring their 2nd and 3rd vaccinations and there are medications and special foods for the malnourished animals.

We are calling on the hearts of our Vucjak Community to consider a $5 gift to help us pay the ongoing veterinary bills.
