Just imagine, two cardboard boxes left at the shelter gates. The contents? 8 little puppies - all in a sad state of neglect. Sadly two of the puppies passed away leaving us with 5 boys and 1 girl.

The remaining six have grown into fit, healthy, very lively, and very playful dogs. It is debatable what they enjoy the most - being with people or their food. Both lead to huge excitement within the group. What they don’t enjoy yet is being still!

It is difficult to say what their eventual size will be since we saw neither parent. They have the looks of German Shepherd crosses or is it Terrier, or possibly some Husky genes (given their tendency toward ‚drama queen‘ behaviour when required to do something they don’t like). Only time will tell; but whatever, they will be lively, energetic and affectionate.

The Mandria Book Exchange at TO CHORKON Restaurant in Mandria opened its doors for the first on 18th July at 7pm.

Some lovely books have been donated and people can put a donation in the pot to raise much-needed funds for PAWS Dog Shelter.

People are welcome to bring along book donations too.

PAWS Dog Shelter is currently home to close on 40 puppies under one year old. Over half of these puppies are coming up to 6-months-old, the time at which they need their first blood test. The health of our dogs is paramount... but it comes at a cost.

Donations of PUPPY FOOD would be very welcome to help us feed all these (very) hungry mouths. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter or our Charity Shop.

Thank you to everyone who supported the evening at To Tavernaki. We raised a total of 234 euros. It was a lovely evening and thanks go to the staff at To Tavernaki for lovely food and service.

UPDATE - Urma (EMMA) is well enough to come back to the PAWS Dog Shelter, Paphos, Cyprus

Thank you so much to Dr Yiannis and his team who again performed emergency life saving surgery.

This morning Urma (EMMA) couldn't use her back legs do she was rushed to the vets. Thank you to Susan Shelley Seymour who noticed how she was looking.

It was very quickly diagnosed as internal bleeding so emergency surgery was needed. She had actually lost 2.5 litres of blood so yet again the handsome Nesta came to the rescue.

For those clients who had to wait or even had there appointments cancelled we would like to thank you also for your understanding.
