All about BARC

The British (Forces) Animal Rehoming Centre - BARC - offers support to military personnel with pets. BARC is a non-profit organisation - any proceeds from our activities go directly towards the support and upkeep of the animals and facilities. Established in 1991 BARC is dedicated to providing an animal welfare service to British Forces in the Western Sovereign Base Area, Cyprus. A

s well as finding new homes for cats and dogs, BARC offers pet boarding and an import / export service exclusively to service personnel. Another great adoption story!

A heartfelt thank you to Caroline, Ben & Max! ❤️🐾

We are overjoyed to share that Buddy & Samba, two beautiful boys from the BARC, have found their forever home with the amazing Gent family!

Caroline loved the boys from the moment she met met them. It was clear for us to see the only obstacle was getting Ben to meet them, Caroline knew he would fall in love with them too if he did. She decided to take the boys for Christmas to give them a warm and loving home for the festive period this was a perfect time for Ben to meet the boys. Well as you can now tell Ben did fall in love with them and the boys never came back to the BARC! Buddy and Samba now have a lifetime of love, cuddles, and new adventures ahead exactly what they deserve.

A huge thank you to Caroline, Ben & Max for opening their hearts and home to these two special boys whom we miss so much. Your kindness and compassion mean the world to us!

🐾 Rashers aka Todd has found his Forever Home! 🏡❤️
We’re over the moon to share that Rashers has been rehomed and is now living his best life with Mary and Murphy! 🎉🐶
This sweet boy has settled in beautifully, enjoying endless cuddles, fun adventures, and lots of love in his new home.
From shelter life to sofa snuggles—Rashers’ journey is exactly why we do what we do! 💕
Some dogs are just meant to be with their people, and for Rashers, that person was Mary. From the moment they met, their bond was so strong that nothing was going to keep them apart! 💕
Rashers came to the BARC after a tough life on the streets, having to fend for himself. When he arrived, he was so fearful that we couldn’t even put a lead on him to go for a walk. With thanks to the incredible team at the MWD especially Dan Dan and Will, Rashers transformed into a whole new dog. Their dedication and expertise gave him the confidence to trust again, and we are beyond grateful for the work they do 🙌🐶
A huge thank you to Mary and Murphy for opening their hearts and home to this wonderful boy. 🐾✨
Now, Rashers is exactly where he belongs, living his best life. We couldn’t be happier for this special boy!
Wishing them all a lifetime of love, happiness, and plenty of adventures. 🐾✨

Good morning all, just a reminder we also do boarding for your lovely animals (for entitled personnel). April is pretty much full, the last week we do have some kennels available. May is already starting to fill so if your planning to go away dont leave it to long to Book your Cat/Dog in. What your dogs or cats can expect here, lots of fuss from our lovely volunteers and a nice walk in the morning and afternoon ❤❤. Just a note to our lovely volunteers, who come up to BARC to walk the dogs or play with the cats. As of the 2nd of March our evening walking times will change to 16:00 - 18:00 to coincide with the lighter evenings.
