Indication for this procedure is mainly the behavior of the male rabbits which changes rapidly when they enter adolescence and hormones kick in, making them sometimes aggressive or destructive, marking territory etc.

This super friendly ferret named Cookie came to see us with constipation, vomiting and weight loss!
After some basic diagnostic steps including radiology, we detected a tumor in his abdomen which was most likely the cause for the whole situation.
He was operated shortly after and the tumor was removed successfully. The tumor was tangled around the intestines constricting them and causing a tremendous amount of pain, preventing him from living normally.
After the excision, the tumor was sent to a pathology lab where it was determined to be mainly calcified adipose tissue, therefore not carcinogenic - metastatic.
Cookie gained his weight back and returned to normal in less than a week.
