Day 1, Day 14 and Day 30 of initial visit. This 2 month old kitten came to us with severe herpetic descemetocele which healed nicely over a month period. 😺🐾

This cute sphynx kitten came to us few months ago as a third opinion case with descemetocele on her right eye complicated with partial corneal perforation and severe intraocular inflammation. We managed to save the eye and give her her vision back. Corneal perforations are considered ophthalmic emergencies and need to be handled by an ophthalmologist immediately. If your cat is facing any type of eye problem, give us a ring for appointment. 😺🐈⬛
Meet Visarionas, our 12 year old patient who came to us for age related changes on his right eye that cause ulcers. Although those type of ulcers (SCCED) are quite stubborn and painful, after diamond burr debridement and bandage lens protection the ulcer healed nicely. The bandage lens was removed today and Visarionas is happy to be pain free again 🐰

This beautiful 10 month old Maine C**n boy was admitted for lower right eyelid entropion surgery today. Maine C**ns are genetically predisposed to entropion and if left untreated it can cause severe corneal damage. Maine C**ns are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds and are quite popular for their gentle and calm temperament 😺🩵
Bandage contact lenses are applied by veterinary ophthalmologists to provide comfort and faster healing of corneal epithelium after corneal debridement. 🐶🐾
Tropical keratopathy ( Florida spots ) is very common in countries with tropical or subtropical climate like
Cyprus 🌞. These grey rounded opacities do not cause any vision loss or pain. They were spotted as an incidental finding on the corneal stroma bilaterally of this beautiful outdoor female cat who visited us for her annual vaccination today 😺🐾

This cute little pumpkin, Bruno, is an 8 weeks old Border Collie who came for his fundoscopic examination. Many eye disorders in dogs are genetic so early eye screening between 6-8 weeks is advisable.

An other FIP survivor and a very challenging internal medicine case for us. This stray cat was hospitalised in our clinic for 2 weeks with progressed dry FIP, affected liver and secondary hemolytic anemia. She had a fantastic recovery and the man who saved her and brought her to us is looking for a forever home for her. She is very friendly and loving. If anybody is interested to adopt her please contact us 😺
Hugo came for his eye recheck today. He was first examined by us in April with severe pigmentary keratitis bilaterally and he was totally blind on both eyes. He got the appropriate treatment and he is able to see again. He was also checked for his seasonal allergies and blepharitis. 🐾🦮

Jet is a former working dog who was referred to us from British military base in Episkopi for investigations of anisocoria ( uneven pupil sizes) . He was a very good boy during examination and got a treat at the end. 🦮🐾
Spontaneous chronic corneal epithelial defect ( SCEED ) in a dog with long term non-healing ulcer. Note the loose epithelium at the edges of the superficial ulcer, corneal oedema and superficial vascularisation around the ulcer. The condition is painful for pets and can result in severe damage if not treated appropriately.

Kisu came in for his systolic blood pressure measurement today. He was diagnosed with idiopathic hypertensive retinopathy 6 weeks ago. The owner noticed that Kisu lost his eyesight on both eyes and brought him to be examined by us. His systolic blood pressure was 220 mmHg during that time and now it dropped down to 150 mmHg with the appropriate treatment which is within normal range. Haemorrhages at the back of the eye totally resolved now, we managed to save vision on his right eye and kept his systolic blood pressure normal. High systolic pressure except of blindness, it can also affect other organs like heart, kidneys, brain etc leading to fatal results if not treated appropriately. 😺
Deep corneal sequestrum (corneal stromal necrosis) on Winsdon, a 2 year old Abyssinian cat with an on going history of herpetic keratitis. Around 0,4 mm of corneal stroma was surgically removed under microscope, a procedure called keratectomy followed by conjunctival flap position. The surgically made defect healed nicely and conjunctival flap got thinner. Total flap removal is planned withing the next month. If left untreated corneal sequestrums can get deeper causing possible perforation and vision loss. 😺🐈

Eric came to us 1 month ago in terrible pain having serious problems on both eyes. His right eye had iris prolapse which was the end result of an incorrectly managed corneal ulcer which lead to corneal perforation. His left eye had severe KCS ( dry eye disease ), trichiasis ( eyelashes growing into cornea ) causing secondary pigmentation leading to tremendous discomfort and vision loss. The right eye was treated surgically and the left one medically. The left eye will be treated with cryoepilation for trichiasis in the near future. Both eyes are under monitoring and we are very pleased to see him improving and be happy again. 🐾🐕
Ο Eric ήρθε σε μας πριν από ένα μήνα έχοντας πολύ πόνο και σοβαρό πρόβλημα και στα δύο του μάτια. Το δεξι μάτι είχε πρόπτωση ίριδας η οποία ήταν αποτέλεσμα λανθασμένης αντιμετώπισης ενός έλκους στον κερατοειδή το οποίο οδήγησε σε πρόπτωση του κερατοειδή. Το αριστερό μάτι είχε σοβαρό KCS ( ξηροφθαλμία ), τριχιαση (βλεφαρίδες με αποκλειση στην επιφάνεια του κερατοειδή ) δημιουργώντας δευτερεύον δημιουργια μελανης ( καφέ ) πλάκας στον κερατοειδή προκαλώντας σοβαρό ερεθισμό και μείωση της όρασης. Έγινε χειρουργείο στο δεξί μάτι και το αριστερό μάτι αντιμετωπίστηκε φαρμακευτικά. Η τριχιαση στο αριστερό μάτι θα αντιμετωπιστεί με κρυοχειρουργειο στο άμεσο μέλλον. Και τα δύο μάτια είναι υπό παρακολούθηση και είμαστε πολύ ευχαριστημένοι που βλέπουμε τον Eric να βελτιώνεται και να είναι ξανά χαρούμενος. 🐾🐕

Third eyelid hemangiosarcomas are rare malignant tumours of the third eyelid gland. They are usually locally invasive arising from conjunctiva and can be seen in older cats. Smudge, our 18 years old patient underwent surgical removal and cryotherapy of the hemangiosarcoma. Monitoring of the case in regular intervals is recommended.🐾🐈
