Well, today was a first! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Today I was called a "selfish, misguided jobsworth" because I refused to send 8 cats in crates that were not big enough for the cats. The cats were 36cm tall, and the crates 37cm. Neither were they long enough.

The owner kept quoting the IATA regulations to me but would not accept that me, as the shipper, has the respnsibility to ensure they are the correct size for the cats. Also, if they turned up at the airport in them, they would be refused travel. But hey, what do I know!

If I feel a crate is too small for ANY pet, I will NOT send it in it. Regardless of what insults the owner may throw at me.

I would rather risk losing my admin fee than send any pet in a crate that is not suitable.

Rant over! 🤣🤣

ELLIE PUPDATE

Apologies for being a bit quiet on the Ellie front.

I have been run off my feet this week with pets arriving and departing and then we have the 4 puppies at home to contend with. I seem to run out of daylight EVERY day!

Ellie is doing extremely well. We did have a bit of a scare in the week as she was swollen and lame on her leg/shoulder. I took her to the vet and he explained that because he removed a lymph gland, her body has to get used to it being missing (or something like that!).

She has antibiotics and was back home that evening being spoilt by Jillian Tremmil and Bill.

I still cannot find the chemo drug. If anyone reading this is a vet and can order it for me in the UK, I will find the means of getting it here, even if it involves a cheap plane ticket to the UK and back.

We HAVE to source it for Ellie's sake!

Today, one of my eldest Cyprus friends, who I'd know nearly 13 years lost the biggest battle of her life.

She was an inspiration to everyone she met.

Never had a bad word to say about anyone (apart from one person we both disliked intensely!) 🤣🤣🤣

Because of her, literally thousands of dogs have been saved from a life of hell.

Rest easy my lovely friend Elena mou, finally free from pain.

I will miss you SO much.

Tomorrow the skinny dog I found last week goes in to have his ⚽️⚽️ off having put on 3kg. He then starts treatment for leish. He was going back to his original foster (from where he was let out the garden by a neighbour!!) but looks like we're keeping him till March.

He's a lovely big chap. Gets on with all my lot and loves the cats.

Only trouble is he thinks he's a little lap dog and wants to sit on me EVERY NIGHT!

Many people come to Cyprus in the summer and want to take a cat or dog home with them as, let's face it, it can be pretty tough for them in the winter.

Here is a snapshot of those I've sent in the last 3 weeks - 18 in total.

Due to having g a fractured shoulder I didn't get pictures of them all.

The kittens and cats are boarded at the excellent Choletria Mill Cattery and we look after the dawgs.

This is Magnus Opus Iris. A beautiful Frenchie puppy, bred by Michalis Kouroushis.

She flew to the UK last night to live with ........... wait for it............

To the person that dumped this dog in our village, SHAME ON YOU!!

Adolescent, un-neutered, not chipped (quelle surprise!), starving hungry, emaciated, bag of bones (as usual). Looks like a black Shepherd maybe.

Understands "sit" but not "katse" (Greek for "sit").

Has met the cats and is fine. Just about to spend the next two hours integrating him.

I can't keep anymore dogs and if anyone would like to adopt him (not yet though, need to work some magic on him first!), please let me know.

I doubt if anyone will step up and offer him a home, there are just TOO many dogs needing help.

People pay hundreds from a dog from a breeder but won't pay to rescue a shelter dog. Bit of a no brainer if you ask me!

Orion has waited so patiently, watching so many other dogs that came in after he did, get to leave before he does.

This gorgeous boy is a 1 year old Lab type and around 20kgs. He’s loving, playful and gentle and adores people!
