New year's eve is coming up soon ... a reason to celebrate, but your pets will probably be less happy about the loud fireworks. 🎉🎆 We have a few little tips for you on how your loved ones can get through the noisy night.
1️⃣Be sure to leave animals inside on New Year's Eve!
2️⃣ Offer your pet a cuddly retreat or hiding place for the time of the fireworks.
3️⃣ During the days that the animals have to spend indoors, provide distraction in the form of snack balls or other activities such as treat-search games.

Have you ever had a closer look at a cat's tongue 🐱👅? This organ has some exciting facts to offer...
1️⃣ Cats cannot taste sweetness due to a genetic defect! The necessary receptors are not functional in them. The reason why they often have a sweet tooth is that they react to and prefer other ingredients: for example fat.
2️⃣ On their tongues you can find pointed hooks, the so-called "papillae". With the help of these the fur of the cat can be cleaned optimally, because it can distribute saliva, remove dirt and cool the skin.
3️⃣ However, a cat's tongue is also useful for food intake. The movement of the tongue while drinking creates a water column and the papillae prevent the water from being lost due to their rough structure.

🟡 Help in the animal shelter: animal shelters usually have more work than they can handle - the more welcome are motivated and reliable helpers. Check out an animal shelter near you and offer your help.
🟡 Give an animal from the animal shelter a new home: who thinks about finding an animal roommate, should make his way to the animal shelter. There numerous fur noses look for a loving home.
🟡 Become animal sponsor: even if you cannot or do not want to take up an animal with you, you can support animal shelters by a sponsorship.
🟡 Check your cosmetic products an cleaning products: if you want to avoid animal suffering, the best way to do so is to avoid products that have been tested on animals - this applies to cosmetics.
