Ο υποθυρεοειδισμός είναι μια παθολογική κατάσταση που μπορεί να εμφανιστεί στους σκύλους, κυρίως σε ζώα μέσης ηλικίας.

Εμφανίζεται όταν ο θυρεοειδής αδένας του σκύλου σας δεν παράγει αρκετή ποσότητα των ορμονών που ρυθμίζουν τον μεταβολισμό, κυρίως της θυροξίνης.

Στην περίπτωση που ο σκύλος σας πάσχει από υποθυρεοειδισμό, ο μεταβολισμός του επιβραδύνεται.

- αδικαιολόγητη αύξηση βάρους
- προβλήματα στο δέρμα και το τρίχωμα

Hypothyroidism is a pathological condition that can occur in dogs, especially in middle-aged animals.

SYMPTOMS OF CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE IN CATS
If your cat develops chronic kidney failure, he may initially have no symptoms or only have polyuria/thirst that will continue for weeks or months. So if you notice your cat drinking more water than usual and leaving larger areas of liquid in its sand it is a good idea to go to your vet for a check-up.

As the condition progresses, your pet will experience several symptoms:
- In about 70% of cases there is weight loss, anorexia, dehydration, and possibly vomiting.
- As the animal cannot absorb enough nutrients from its food, it can not maintain its weight. You will see a rapid loss of muscle mass and weight.
- The animal may show lethargy and collapse.
- The animal's hair may be dull and there may be hair loss.
- A urinary tract infection may occur.
- In advanced stages, you will probably see mouth ulcers and bad breath, vomiting, and diarrhea.
- Finally, there may be lesions in the eyes, such as bleeding, retinal detachment, etc.

Εφόσον η γάτα σας εμφανίσει χρόνια νεφρική ανεπάρκεια, μπορεί αρχικά να μην έχει κανένα σύμπτωμα ή να παρουσιάσει μόνο πολυουρία/πολυδιψία που θα συνεχίστει για εβδομάδες ή μήνες. FLEAS IN DOGS & CATS

What you can see are common symptoms caused by flea infestation, such as:

LEARN ABOUT TICKS IN DOGS & CATS

Ticks attach to your dog or cat by inserting their mouth into your pet's skin. They usually cling to places where your dog or cat is difficult to reach and lick.

FIRST OF MAY, FLOWERS AND YOUR PETS

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOUR PET HAVE HER TEETH CLEANED?

Επίσης, η πέτσα από το αρνί περιέχει μεγάλη ποσότητα λίπους, ενώ η μαγειρίτσα έχει πολλά μπαχαρικά. Έστω και μικρή ποσότητα από τέτοιες “λιχουδιές” θα δημιουργήσει πρόβλημα στο ζώο σας. Είναι πολύ πιθανό να ερεθιστεί το στομάχι και τα έντερα του ζώου σας και να αρχίσει να κάνει εμετούς ή διάρροια. Ακόμα, η αυξημένη κατανάλωση λιπαρών τροφών μπορεί να οδηγήσει και σε οξεία παγκρεατίτιδα, μια επικίνδυνη κατάσταση για την υγεία του ζώου σας.
Όσον αφορά τα γλυκά, το Πάσχα πρέπει να είστε ιδιαίτερα προσεκτικοί με τα σοκολατένια αυγά. Ιδιαίτερα οι σκύλοι λατρεύουν τη σοκολάτα, η οποία όμως είναι τοξική για αυτούς και μπορεί να τους προκαλέσει δηλητηρίαση. Οι γάτοι δεν τρελαίνονται για να φάνε σοκολάτα, λόγω όμως της έμφυτης περιέργειάς τους, μπορεί να φάνε σοκολάτα απλά για να δουν τι είναι. Η σοκολάτα όμως είναι τοξική και για τους γάτους μας και ιδιαίτερα επικίνδυνη.
Τέλος προσέξτε που αφήνετε τα βαμμένα αυγά. Πολλοί σκύλοι τρελαίνονται για τα αυγά. Αν αυτά μείνουν αφύλακτα, υπάρχει ο κίνδυνος να τα καταπιούν ολόκληρα, μαζί με τη βαφή στο τσόφλι, η οποία είναι τοξική.

Αρκετές φορές, για πρακτικούς λόγους, η αφαίρεση των παραμένοντων νεογιλών δοντιών γίνεται όταν το ζώο στειρώνεται/ευνουχίζεται, ώστε το ζώο να υποβληθεί σε γενική αναισθησία μία φορά και όχι δύο.
