Flight days are always emotional and this one was no exception as three wonderful dogs were leaving us to start their journey to better lives. Bella, Amber and Roxi flew to the UK on 26. October We miss them but wish them, and all the other dogs on the same freedom flight, a very happy life.
Huge thanks to foster Mum Debbie who looked after Bella for over 3 months. Fostering is the ideal way to help prepare a dog for life in their future home. We are indebted to a huge team of people, including the dedicated volunteers at the pound, those who arranged the flight and dealt with the large volume of associated paperwork, and to all those who coordinated and transported the dogs to the airport. So many contributed time and effort to make this possible. THANK YOU! ❤❤❤
National Dog Adoption Day (25 October) exists to promote the fantastic benefits of adopting a dog from one of many animal shelters as well as promoting the concept and advantages of taking on a dog from a rehoming organisation. It also raises the profile of rescue organisations within local communities and promotes the vast benefits to the adopters.
The vast majority of the dogs at Pegeia Dog Pound are rehomed through UK based Stronger Together Animal Rescue (STAR)), a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales; charity number 1168941. ❤❤🐾🐾
