Last nights toilet walk with Vexy and Mitzi (our guest pooch) was sublime. Coincidently got out there, just before the sunset.

I think I love the sunrise and sunset reflections on nature the most!

Our other pooch guest, the beautiful Blonde, was unfortunately on “season”. A pet sitter with no males at home collected her Saturday.

Introducing Blonde (brown lab) and Mitchy (skinny blonde doggy) who are staying with us until their Mummy (my friend Katinka) returns from her first ever book launch in the Netherlands.

I’m so excited for her. I have so much respect for what this lady has achieved in her life.

Tinkas house and pet sitter, also a friend, fell through the day before she was due to fly to the Netherlands for this life defining moment and accomplishment.

Cindy and Tiri joined our walk this morning and of course, have returned with us.

ALLLLL are wanting breakfast now!

I wouldn't want to be adopted if I was living at the Asher House!

One of our fave doggy guests Ruah is back.

For two days only.

Boys were so happy to see each other this morning.

Ruah (and his Mum) will sadly leave the valley soon until next winter.

Camera in my loan phone definitely has no iphone camera quality.

LAUNCHING MY DOG MINDING SERVICES:

For those that don’t know me, Chantal Wiessner, I ❤️ dogs! I ❤️ dogs more than most humans.

While living in Cyprus 🇨🇾 between 2020-2023, I was a volunteer with Nieske De Jonge. Nieske founded and continues to operate Strayhaven Dog Rescue and Adoption Centre.

Nieske’s life’s purpose is to “help those who do not have a voice and cannot help themselves”. She is beyond inspiring. The obstacles she’s overcome including the burning down of the Giolou (Cyprus) shelter. Nieske makes the world a better place!

I volunteered on the ground at the shelter, feeding, walking and cleaning. I became a foster carer to some of the more vulnerable rescues and I helped a little with fundraising, from time to time. But, I prefer hands on work with the dogs.

I have been offering dog minding services in my home, more or less since moving to Acequias. Below are my rates:

1-7 days
First day 30€ (if first stay)
Every other day 20€

7+ days
First day 30€ (if first stay)
Every other day 15€

My rates include 3 campo walks per day when climate allows, 2 otherwise.

The doggy’s food fave toy, bowl, bed and Pet Passport must be supplied for the stay.

I’m experienced in caring for and medicating sick dogs, even with human chemotherapy (advanced Leishmaniasis).

Male dogs must be neutered otherwise cleaning closts are added. Female dogs cannot be on heat during their stay, cleaning & increased care costs will be applied. All dogs must be human and dog socialised.

I accept a maximum of 2 doggy guests, from one client, at any one time. My environment is no good for more dogs.

At this time, all sits are in my home. I’m not available for house sitting generally.

IMPORTANT: I will not take on any of my Lecrín valley friends (Liz and Helen) clients! Liz or Helen will let me know if they’re not available and would like help.

Way too many dogs to include a photo of each one I’ve helped but, here’s a few photos I could easily find.

Chester, our guest until later tonight, slept until 8:45 this morning, with Ben. Vex won’t let him sleep with us.

Chester may have given Vexy butt sniffing trauma on Day 1 of the pet sit. Thankfully it stopped on day 2 but Vexy hasn’t forgotten.

I think Chester’s woken up excited for his trek out on the campo this morning. Alright little buddy, let’s go.

I’ve never met a 13 year old dog with this much energy before. He’s a trooper. Last night, Vexy and Pastel were sound asleep on the lounges and you guessed it, Chester wanted to play and engage.

Our guest doggy Chester enjoyed being out in nature this morning. Lots of new smells.

Welcome Chester, our doggie guest until Wednesday! He’s 13, sooo playful and will apparently do morning campo hikes!

HEY, I’M LOST - Have you seen me?

I’m Pastel. my humans (and horses) haven’t seen me since I left my village, Acequias in the Lecrín Valley, on Monday (January 13).

I am about 4 years old, microchipped and neutered male. I’m a bit skinnier now than in this photo, I weigh about 45kg. I have a collar on. I’m a mountain dog and know my around the campo and Nigüelas. I’m a gentle giant unless attacked.

If you see me, please keep me safe and call my dad, Danny on 643 606 474. If you can’t reach Danny, try Chantal 624 451 626.

Vexy, my dog, knows every finca (farm) like the back of his paws.

Ruah, follows Vexy’s lead, always.

But, sometimes Vexy turns out to come back to me and leaves Ruah behind. All good. I always have a tracker on dogs in my care!

Ruah knew he was on the wrong side of this finca fence this morning. Got him out a minute later, no stress!

Ruah is new to free ranging the Spanish campo and all it has to offer. He usually lives in Ireland 🇮🇪. His mummy returns today so, he won’t be part of our daily adventures anymore.

We love having you Ruah, you’re welcome anytime. It’s been a blast.

Part of this mornings hike along goat tracks and the acequia with our guest doggy, Rua (aka Roosey Goosey) and my boy Vexy!

11/01/2025

From this morning until Tuesday lunch time, the lovely Rua will be joining Vexy and I on our morning hikes and afternoon walk. The boys get on well together. We pick Rua up from his house, also in Acequias, and return him after the walk.

This male dog, starving, living on a f**a on the outskirts of Nigüelas is very friendly but very quickly loosing weight! It won’t be long before he’s emaciated!

Now, I don’t know if the dog’s weight loss is due to illness, he doesn’t appear to have Leishmaniasis symptoms or, if he’s being starved and neglected!

At his finca, people appear to building a cortijo. I have never seen anyone here during the past several months of walking past at least every 2 or so days! This is not normal. Most finca dogs I see, are visited at least daily.

Yes, I bring food to feed him but, it’s NOT ENOUGH! He needs food (and water) everyday.

If this is your dog, or you know whose dog it is, can you please tell them to go check on their dog!

He either needs food or vetinerary care or both!

I’m watching, I will try to feed him more but, I will report to this to Police if I don’t see him putting on some weight and, no longer starving for food!
