ADOPTION PROCESS:
Announcing the Cool Critters adoption procedure! Due to the high volume of adoption requests we receive, we have decided to implement a new adoption procedure to help us find the perfect fit for each and every animal. If y

ou see an animal you are interested in adopting, or would like to be considered for adoption in general, you will need to fill out our adoption application. We will review these applications and choose candidates we feel are best suited to match with the personalities and needs of the animals available for adoption. These candidates will then be invited for a round of meet and greets, after which the final decision on adoption will be made. Being first to fill out an application will not guarantee you will be chosen. You will be considered again when another pup or kitty that seems to be a potential match comes through our doors. This is a bit of a different campaign than we would normally do but the time has come to provide accommodation for volunteers. So we have decided to purchase a caravan 😊

For the past five years Jaq has worked every day, without a break. She's not getting any younger and is finding it more difficult to take the amount of Critters that we did in the past. She's now a pensioner can you believe!

We get lots of requests for people to come and volunteer. Some are doing veterinary and animal courses but we don't have anywhere for them to sleep apart from one of the cat rooms for them to stay.

Secondhand caravans are quite expensive and we have been looking for quite some time. Martin found a bargain at 35,000 and so we have decided that this will be our new volunteer accommodation 😊 It was originally used by a Swiss animal rescue.

We need to raise money for the caravan, a new mattress and some equipment to make it cosy and comfortable. It's a lot of money but it will benefit the animals enormously. We thank everyone in advance for your help to make Cool Critters a place where volunteers can come and stay ❤️

LULU is looking for her forever home!!

Meet LULU, female, just over 1 year old, mixed breed 18.3 kg. She is vaccinated, dewormed, anti-parasite treated, microchipped and castrated.

Lulu is very smart, attentive and gentle.❤️ She is a cheerful and happy dog and will always watch and figure out what her human is doing.🥰 Lulu and her sister Browny were found together tied up in front of a clinic.

So far Lulu has only met older kids 10+ years, so we don't know if she's also ok with smaller kids. Lulu is very good with other dogs. In the sanctuary she lives perfectly fine with a pack of dogs. Lulu is also good with cats.🐾

Lulu knows the leash and loves to go for walks.🥰 She is the more confident and playful one of the two sisters and she has more energy. We know that we cannot expect the two sisters to find a home together, but we would still like to mention that the two of them are very bonded. At lest we want adopters to stay in touch with Browny's people to the girls can meet on a regular basis.❤️

BROWNY is looking for her forever home!!

Meet BROWNY, female, just over 1 year old, mixed breed 21.7 kg. She is vaccinated, dewormed, anti-parasite treated, microchipped and castrated.

Browny is a smart, cuddly and very people oriented dog.❤️ She welcomes everyone and will sit down right by your side and ask for pets.🥰 Browny and her sister Lulu were found together tied up in front of a clinic.

So far Browny has only met older kids 10+ years, so we don't know if she's also ok with smaller kids. Browny is good with other dogs, but a bit reserved at first and might growl, but other than that there are no problems. In the sanctuary she lives perfectly fine with a pack of dogs. Browny good with cats.🐾

MARSHMALLOW is STILL looking for his forever home!!🏠

Marshmallow has been waiting for his home for over two years. He has a wonderful foster daddy, but we all agree that it's time to find Marshmallow's forever home!! Please help us to spread the word and share his story! 🙏 ❤

Meet MARSHMALLOW, male, 3.5 years old, impressive 4.5 kg, he is microchipped, castrated and vaccinated. He tested positive for FIV.

Marshmallow lives in Prague. His foster dad Peter knows all about him:

"As the foster parent of 'Freddy Mercury (coined it due to his FIV), I’ve found him to be a sweet, social, and easygoing cat who enjoys attention and following you around. Easy to pick up and hug.❤️

Despite having only three fangs (wet food only), he’s surprisingly skilled at snatching ropes—any rope or even a wine cork does the trick for him.😹

He’s gentle, but he can get a bit wild when you're, for example, making the bed, where i can jump under or immediately on top, so if you want to keep your linens intact, it's best to keep his nails short. Fortunately, he’s very relaxed about having his nails clipped, especially when he's in the middle of a nap. He can be sometimes pretty enthusiastic about his love bites, but nothing un-catlike.😻

Freddy is more of a ground dweller; he prefers open spots, sitting in the window and loves sunny patches. He usually chooses the bed as his favorite spot. He's fine on a balcony and takes care. He also has a strong meow and loves to 'talk' about his day."

Cats with FIV can live very normal, healthy lives for many years if managed appropriately. Although FIV isn't easily transmitted between cats (only through deep bites and not via sharing food and other normal interaction), the risk means that a FIV positive cat should only be adopted into a single-cat household or to other FIV positive cats.

A little update on Baby Cat.
An early morning vet visit today as yesterday she didn't eat as well as she has been. She's full of cold and her nose is very blocked and eyes very runny. The vet confirmed she's 5/6 months old and she is now 1.2kg.
We have a long way to go but with care and love we think she will be fine 🙏

Minnie Mouse 🐶💜

We had a pretty bad start into this week.
Minnie wasn't feeling well, she was very weak, she could barely get up for her breakfast. We thought it's time and contacted our vet. 💔

Now, two days later, Minnie is back on track, eager to look for treats in the garden. 💪

How many times we've dealt with this topic already and every time we talk about the "last vet visit", our Minnie regains that zest for life. 🙏 It seems to be a twist of fate, because the vet also forgot to get back to us. ☺️

Spring is around the corner 🌱 go Minnie!! 💜

A huge thank you goes out to the Prague British Scouts!🙏

In temperatures that weren't particularly pleasant, these committed young boys and girls did a fantastic job.💪

They managed to fold all the cardboard boxes, filled all the bags with straw and washed lots of boxes and crates. In addition, they also washed our new caravan, which will house volunteers in the near future.✨

Scouts gives young people skills for life! 💪
All of these wonderful young people showed a lot of interest and love for our animals, so we are happy to support them in their personal development. ❤

BENNY is looking for his forever home!!

Meet BENNY, male, 1.5 years old, Saluki - GS mix, medium size 26 kg. He is vaccinated, castrated, dewormed, anti-parasite treated and microchipped.

Benny is a friendly and energetic boy. 🥰 He loves people and cuddles. Whenever Benny meets new people he will enthusiastically greet them, he actually thinks that every person on this planet is meant to be his best buddy. Benny is also nice with children. He is good with cats and dogs.🐾

Benny is house trained, he listens to his name, knows the leash and he manages the city. Benny loves to be with humans all the time, he is also used to live with other dogs. Benny is a bit of a clingy type, but he still behaves very much like a puppy, so some basic education will be needed. We also think that Benny is quite energetic, so we are looking for an active future owner.

This little girl arrived yesterday and we were told she was born in September, which makes her about 5 months. The tragic thing is she only weighs 900g 😭 She should be around 2-2.5 kg.

People from the next village asked us to help with castrastion of six cats. This wee girl was one of them 😭 She is now in Jaq's bedroom, by the radiator, in the warm. We will do our best to save her but she is really poorly. This morning she 💩 out worms and hadn't even been given a dewormer yet. She eats, which is a good start to her recovery. Please send some good vibes her way 🙏 She doesn't have a name yet, only baby cat 🐈

Suki, Yuki, Viki and Shiro. Rescued from a flat with an 'overpopulation' of 26 cats 🙈

Luckily they all seem pretty healthy. They will soon be castrated and we'll start their journey to their new homes 😻

This is Houdini, he's one e of the 11 cats we took from Stod (he's Stod 10 to be exact). Houdini is a big boy. He's calm and very cuddly, a really special 🐈. We named him Houdini because he's specialized in opening doors and escaping. One day he managed to escape and we couldn't find him for a whole day 🙀 ... luckily, we were able to trap him. Houdini was all black, because he was hiding somewhere up in the chimney. 🫣 Now that he's back he can start to recover from his eye infection, an infection almost all Stod cats came with. So far the care of our Stod kitties has been very cost-intensive. Back at the end of last year we asked for donations for Lele kitty who had to have surgery on her leg. You generously donated and Lele got her surgery 😻 But the surgery didn't completely work and Lele had to go through a second surgery 😢 Your generosity again enabled this to happen 😻 After the second surgery things were not so plain sailing as we would have wished. Her wound became infected and it took the wonderful care of her owners to bring her back to full health 😍 We are pleased with Lele's new found mobility but still aware that she may need surgery on her second hind leg in the future. Here's a little video of Lele walking the 'catwalk' to show you what a top model she is 💕 Thank you to everyone who supported Lele. We can't do what we do without you ❤️

Gorgonzola and Mozzarella arrived to Cool Critters when they were about 10 weeks old with their mother Sakura. Normally kittens get adopted quickly and the momma's are left waiting for a home. Sakura went home after being here for three weeks, Mozzarella and Gorgonzola have been waiting nearly 5 months 😢 We just don't understand why they haven't found a home 😢 They are the most adorable pair. Many kittens have arrived and gone in the time they have been here and it's heartbreaking watching them grow up when other kittens have found their forever home.
