Meet the South Eastern Asia and Australia ants: the Polyrhachis dives. They nest mainly in trees and bushes.

They are also a type of weaver ants, like Oecophylla… but different!
They don't nest only in silk, but also in a nest made of a sort of carton!

New ant species is available!!!

belongs to the weaver ants and lives in the treetops of various plants in Southeast Asia. Their colonies grow very quickly. Oecophylla smaragdina are very aggressive hunters and are so successful that they have been introduced to plantations in parts of Asia to keep harmful insects at bay. New ant species is available!🐜👀

is a grain-eating ant species from the eastern Mediterranean. Like other Messor species, they have workers of different sizes and collect seeds from plants, which they process into ant bread. However, they also feed on insects. Colonies grow moderately fast and vary in size from 10-12 mm for queens, 4-7 mm for small (minor) workers and 5-10 mm for large (major) workers.

🐜 🐜ist eine mittelgroße Ameisenart aus dem südöstlichen Afrika. Ihre Kolonien sind meist Polygyn und können aus mehreren tausend Individuen bestehen.
Typisch für diese Art ist ihr Verteidigungsmechanismus. Dabei heben die Tiere den Gaster (Hinterleib) zwischen den Beinen nach vorne und können so gezielt Ameisensäure auf Angreifer sprühen.

: Their spikey and curved appearance and beautiful red colouring is just one of the distinct features of this species. On Madagascar theyre also known to share their space with a certain snake species to which locals refer to as „Ant‘s Mother“. 🤱

is relatively unknown ant species native to southern africa. Not suprising given the fact that there are more than 15.000 species of ants. One of the most beautiful species from the african region in our opinion due to their golden gaster and the distinct reddish coloring of their legs. What do you think?
