How to build at decision guitars: Part 14
Before pressing in the frets, the fret slots must be clean and free of burrs. I put a little wood glue in the slots and tap the frets with a hammer until they are clean. A fretting press is not always the best solution, especially with compound radii on the fingerboard or multiscale fretting. When fretting, always check with a ruler whether the frets are ideally positioned. If you do this properly, you will be rewarded when leveling.
After fretting, the frets are cut flush and a bevel is sanded. Ideally, the bevel should go a little way into the fingerboard. I always recommend applying the bevel directly to avoid sharp-edged frets. Small cuts in the hand and blood on the neck should be avoided.

How to build at decision guitars: Part 13 Frets
The fret slots in my fingerboards are closed on the sides. If you use a saw, you can close the sides with a binding. I always want to avoid open fret slots. I have a few more work steps with the frets, but it's worth it. The fret wire is pre-bent and cut to length. the heel is inserted with a notching pliers and the cut must be neatly adjusted. In contrast to industrial production, this is very time-consuming. There you can insert it directly from the roll into the fingerboard and then cut it to length.
What is your experience? Have you already had fret ends that look out of the wood?
Have fun watching, stay tuned.

How to build at decision guitars: Part 12 Headstock
I prefer a straight string guide after the nut to increase tuning stability. This does limit the freedom of design somewhat, but here function goes before design. I mill the top edge parallel to the holes, the rest of the contour I shape freehand, here you can adapt the contour to the look of the body and bring in personal style. The result is a skillful blend of technical requirements and free design. The headstock is therefore also a business card.
What is your favorite headstock design ? Dean ? Telecaster ? Parker Fly ?
Have fun watching, stay tuned.

What a great review !
Andy really got every point on that guitar, he really checked everything very professional. He also measured the pickups and conductive shielding colour.
I would be glad to hire him for QC :-)

Further he get behind my intention to create this model:
I was wondering how a T-Style would come out if Mr.Fender would build it today, with nowadays technology.
And while doing research I choosed the oldest T-Style version with a huge Neck to combine it with ergonomic multiscale and a 3D-printed Titanium bridge. Further I choosed a very modern Pickup-Set from Kloppmann.
And it was my first model with bolt-on neck.

Check out this review and please let me know any doubt or question !
I think, there is not much between Love and Hate for this guitar ?

Thank you very much ! See you at NAMM :-)

Merry Christmas !
May your heart beat to the same beat as a perfectly tuned guitar riff and your joy resound as incessantly as a solo that never wants to end.
I wish you the harmony of a beautiful chord, the sense of rhythm of a perfect accompaniment and, above all, the peace of finding yourself in a moment of undisturbed music. May the Christmas season bring you as much inspiration as a creative moment in the studio or on stage.
I hope you spend many cozy evenings with music and lights and that the next year gives you the opportunity to discover and play many more new melodies. Let's always pluck the strings of life with passion and never lose the fun of music!
Merry Christmas and a rocking new year!

How to build at decision guitars: Part 11
The volute is an important area for the feel and stability, because the neck is thinnest in this area. So we get more stability and a guide for the playing hand when we slide into the first fret after a solo. The headstock and fingerboard are finished before gluing. Once the neck has been glued, it would be very impractical to drill the holes for the tuners. Since I have a compound radius on the fingerboard, I can't use a sanding block with a radius. Instead, I have to sand cleanly along the string line. The compound radius is 8“ at the nut and about 10” at the other end. The advantage: comfortably round at the first fret for chord fingerings and flatter at the end, where the fast solos are played. This is particularly noticeable when bending the strings like Gilmour 😊
Have fun watching, stay tuned.
