*Metallyticus splendidus*
The males of the iridescent bark mantis have a complete different Color compared to the females 💙 They’re dark blue and green elements as well - in my opinion they’re at least as beautiful as the more colourful females!

*Helvia cardinalis- Yellow Orchid Mantis*
I missed this specie so much and I’m so happy that I’m able to give them another try with some breeding pairs 🥰
The first male moulted adult today and the first female has pumped wingbuds as well 😌
Wich orchids do you prefer - the white/pink 🌸 or the yellow 🌼 ones?

Metallyticus splendidus - the iridescent bark mantis 🌈🪳 This specie is definitely one of the most colourful species of all! Even without any light this mantis shimmers metallic. Depending of the light intensity they shimmer in different colours 🤩 You gonna find different variations of blue, yellow, green, red and orange 🍭
Picture 1 show my adult female photographed with flash while the 2nd picture is the same female 1 second later without flash 📸

Choeradodis stalii 🍃 I really don’t know another specie wich is so easy to photograph with so good results - I didn’t need to interact with this specimen today as it just sat there in this position 😄
But it’s always so great to see their massive and colourful inner shield display 🥰

Look at this cute Eresus cinnaberinus female! 🥹Eresidae are so lovely species - I’m so happy to have different species in my Breeding stock 🥰 can’t wait to see her buddy molting to adult and getting his reddish color 😍

Rhombodera latipronotum • Giant Malaysia Shield Mantis. This beautiful girl is the last of three species I photographed the other day on my terrace 🌸 This subadult female has a mind blowing coloration of red, pink, lilac, yellow and green 🌈 What do you think about this closeup shot? 🥰

Gandanameno sp. • The black velvet Spider. If your looking for cute spiders you definitely should checkout Eresidae species like Gandanameno and Eresus - they seem like a velvet blackberry with dot eyes and a small moustache 🤭 The females of most Eresidae are black while the males can have bright colorations as orange rings or a light red.

Choeradodis stalii • The hooded Mantis. I was really happy to get some cool shots of one of my staliis 😌 Their massive shield the beautiful colouration is just impress and absolutely stunning 🥰 As this girl didn’t catch a wasp I was able to get some more photos to choose from 😅

Linothele fallax • The Long tailed funnel web spider. One of my favourite „other spiders“ as I’m completely in love with their contrasts. These specie gets a bright golden carapax as well as golden pattern on its abdomen. The basic Color on abdomen and legs is deep black.
The specimen on the photos is an L4/5 sling and it’s still more orange - the golden colour will come out more and more by each molting 🥰

As you wished - here are the pictures of my first adult Bird Eating Spider Shooting 🙊 I’m really proud how they pictures turned out! It’s an adult female of Cyriopagopus lividus (ex Haplopelma lividum). 🕷 The females of this specie are so unbelievable beautiful with their blue colourations 💙

Blepharopsis mendica • The Thistle Mantis was one of the first mantids I started breeding after my long pause of mantis keeping more than 2 years ago. By researching of keeping parameters for this specie I recognised for the first time that internet was full of wrong informations. The more species I kept and researched for the more I started to think about starting my own website to provide proper and correct information. And then, nearly 2 years ago the first version of Mantiden Zimmer went online… and look what it became now - thank you all so much for your continuing support! 💚

🐉Stenophylla lobivertex🐉
As promised some weeks ago I show you some pictures of my small Dragons 🐲
They’re so hard to photograph as they’re really small and so detailed as well as shaking „in the wind“ all the time 😄
The small Dragon Mantis is a very communal specie from Peru.
They need a lower temperature-spectrum of 22-26° and prefer flying insects like moths as well as firebrats 🦋
Actually I have a mixed group of 10 specimens between L1 and L4/5 from 2 different strains (separated in two groups) so I really should be able to breed this awesome specie 🤞🏻

🐉Stenophylla lobivertex - The peruvian Dragon Mantis 🐉
I had the opportunity to shoot some pics of this adult Stenophyla male before I sent him to a Breeding project 🙃
Meanwhile I’m really happy that I got some smaller ones from - please cross all fingers you can find that I gonna successfully breed this amazing specie 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Phidippus otiosus is a colourful jumping spider from the southeast of northamerica. With about 1,6cm they’re a bit smaller than the common Regal Jumping Spider Phidippus regius. You can differ the different sexes just by their faces as soon as their characteristic shapes are fully developed. Females have a face full of contrasts, all black around her eyes and a white band below. Also they mostly have shining red chelicerae. The males have a really wide head wich is all black and looks kinda Orangutan Face 🦧
The males aren’t black at all - they also have shining orange or light brownish highlights.

Because of her beautiful appearance Hymenopus coronatus is one of the most popular mantis species ever! The Orchid Mantis originally comes from Malaysia and needs warm (24-30°) and tropical (60-80%) conditions. She prefers plants with bigger leaves like Monsters or Epipremnum 🌱 as well as branches of a medium thickness 🪵
Females should be kept separately while males are very communal.
Against most declarations in the web in my option Hymenopus coronatus can easily be cared by mantis beginners as well! The most important thing is to prepare yourself for the specie you gonna get - no matter wich specie it is! 💚

Heterochaeta orientalis is one of the largest species in the hobby (especially in Europe) and definitely one of my favourite species in general! The giant stick mantis comes from africas savannah and needs high temperatures as well as rarely rainy days ☀️💧 I properly spray them 2-3 times a Week. Heterochaeta is Part of the Toxoderidae family and can be kept communal very well!
After months of waiting I finally got the first Ooth and I’m so excited to be able to breed this awesome specie 🤯

Can you resist this cute eyes? 🥺😭
As some of you know I got really into jumping spiders the last months and increased my breeding stock up to 8 species currently 💚
This specie is a Phidippus regius Apalachicola from USA (located in Florida, Georgia & Alabama) 🇺🇸
The females mostly have light colorways like light brown or nearly white with a lesser amount of black. Most males are black.
The about 2cm 🤏🏻 jumpers need warm temperatures from 24-30 degrees 🌡(28 degrees in top area are nearly perfect) and about 60-70% humidity 💦
We’ll add some small Phidippus regius Apalachicola to the shop within the next days 🥰

Parasphendale vincta is a really underrated mantis specie in my opinion. For a long time I had no interest in keeping or breeding them until I got them the other day from . I made some different experiences in raising this specie. I raised the nymphs in groups until they got presubadult without any loss - I offered enough space an food for sure. The older females are very different in their behaviour and aggression. For matings I kept the first pair some weeks together. The first female did not show any aggressions and didn’t prey the male - even not after she produced one infertile ooth while he was still sitting in the same box. This male survived the second mating attempt of him as well. The second female I mated was completely different. She was very aggressive right from the start so I decided to put two males into her box. This is something what could help in some cases when the males are kinda scared of the females. She killed both males so I’m glad that I have one more adult male for another mating attempt 😅

Extatosoma tiaratum lichen is an impressive Phasmid specie. I really wasn’t that much into the regular colour form but I always was kinda fascinated by this ones! And what should I say? Extatosoma tiaratum lichen really didn’t upset me - I really couldn’t imagine how impressive they look when they’re sitting in front of me instead just on pictures or videos!
Just after 3 days by uploading our Phasmids to the shop we just have a very limited amount of groups available!

Brancsikia freyi females protect their Ooths until they start to hatch - but even then they gonna sit very close to the hatching offspring. Very interesting behaviour 🥰 The fresh hatched nymphs are kinda big compared to the small size of the Imagos and they already look very similar to the adults! The pronotum is already slightly noticeable and the nymphs can already be sexed with L3.

First time ever I saw this amazing threat display of my Brancsikia freyi female 😍 look at this great pose and intense colours 🎨 This lady showed this display while I separated her offspring today.
