Fish p**p 💩 the silent killer in your aquarium ☠️ 🪦
It all begins with fish p**p 💩 , uneaten food 🪱, and decaying plants, which break down to release ammonia 🔴 into the water. Ammonia, toxic to your fish, is the starting point of the nitrogen cycle.
Beneficial bacteria in your aquarium’s filter (if you have a healthy system) convert this ammonia into nitrite 🟠 a less toxic form but still not great for your fish. The cycle progresses as the good bacteria continue their work, converting nitrite into nitrate 🟡, a compound that fish can tolerate in higher concentrations.
However, nitrates still need to be managed to prevent them from reaching harmful levels. This is where regular water changes 🟢 come in, helping to remove excess nitrates and keep your aquarium’s environment balanced and safe for its inhabitants.
Stayrai ensures nitrates stays below 50ppm by doing fully automated water changes around the clock 🎛️💧🕰️
