Facts about the Cane Corso

THE CANE CORSO …

1. …is originally from Italy and bred as a working dog. It was mainly used as a drover and guard dog on farms, but also as a hunting dog for big game such as wild boar.

2. …tends to “talk” to their owners by grunting, sighing or making other soft sounds. This vocal communication often shows how attached they are to their family.

3. …has loose fur, especially in the neck and throat area. This stems from its past as a hunting dog - loose fur makes it more difficult for attackers to seriously injure the dog when they attack it.
