Some of you may already know that there will no longer be any Caprilli/Millviews Dalmatians. After nearly two and a half decades, filled with cherished moments and successes, I feel content with what I have been able to pass on to others — and that’s exactly how it was meant to be. It brings me so much joy to know the journey continues with those who carry it forward, making it their own. 🐾
It is for this very reason that I am delighted to introduce two upcoming litters, soon to be born in Germany. Jill Petersl is breeding her Kato to Janine Trost Lewis, while Katrin & Frank Pfannenschmid are breeding Smilla to Aileen Locke-Mcfadzean Harlow.
During my time breeding Dalmatians, I never took shortcuts. It was always more important to build a pedigree that would endure into the future than to breed a single champion for the show ring. I’ve always been more of a breeder than an exhibitor, although Caprilli's and some Millviews have had notable success in the show rings of the western world, now spanning three different breeds.
The pedigrees of these two upcoming litters have me especially excited, as they are linebred to some of the greats of the past while carefully avoiding overuse of popular lines. Read carefully! Linebred, not inbred! There is a big difference! When you view the pedigrees, go to 'Linebreeding', extend to 13 generations for more accurate figures, and then click 'AGR' twice — this will give you a good indication of how much influence each dog has on the overall outcome of the combination.

The combination of conformation, movement, and temperament should result in dogs that are both wonderful companions and ready for anything life brings — from cozy days at home to fun-filled adventures out in the open and the show rings. 🎉🐕 I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they will find their way into the hands of those who truly appreciate the hard work, dedication, and passion that have gone into their breeding. 🍀
